According to the Locked on Bengals podcast, All had more snaps than Gesecki yesterday.

Not a surprise the Bengals played with the lead and were rushing. Ford, Sample, and All got alot of reps in the rush offense. Yoshi also outsnaped Tee Higgins.

Not to mention he might already be a better blocker than Sample.

I definitely think he's a better blocker in space and in movement (as a FB, for example), but inline, Sample is still yet to be beat: we'd need to see All take on some DEs and rush LBs first, like Sample has.

All has taken on DE's. He took on Karlaftis and owned him.

The thing about All is he is faster than Sample so he can get to the block in time on pulls. Love this guy.

I'm All in on All... he looks very promising so far. We've got a decent TE group seemingly.

Erick All is averaging 4 rec and 27 yards per game if we exclude the first game where he had 0 targets.
If he keeps that pace, he'll have >400 yards this season.

The YPR is very low (6.8) but most Bengals TEs have low YPR.
I'd like 10+ but I don't think the Bengals playcalling makes that a likelihood for most TEs, as they're most often going on short routes.

Hudson's YPR last year was 9.0.
Sample's career YPR is 7.7.
Gesicki's this year is 9.8 while his career is 10.9.
Hurst's in CIN was 8.0, lowest of his career.
Uzomah had just above 10 his last couple years in CIN, while Eifert had >10 his lone year under Taylor.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Patience has paid off!

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Sample is a blocker. A very good one. But terribly limited as a receiver.

Gesicki is a receiver. A very good one. But terribly limited as a blocker.

If one is in the game as the only TE, it strongly suggests the playcall vis the personnel on the field.

Whereas All can do it all. Block and catch. If he is the lone TE, the D is still guessing. Further, he can balance out or works well with either Sample or Gesicki in 2 TE sets.

Hudson is akin to Gesicki in being more of a receiver. McLachlan is more well rounded, and the likely All understudy.

Blocks on the right by Mims, All, and Chase then great vision and bounce by Brown. I want more redzone running like that.

My buddy sent this to me earlier before the season and hinted this would be happening.

12 personnel means that there is one running back, two tight ends, and two receivers on the field. Having two tight ends gives the offense flexibility in both the run and pass game. Defenses are often forced to match the bigger offensive personnel with larger linebackers. Moving two tight ends around the formation can also help set the strength of the defense and overload one side of the field — especially with quick shifts or motions.

12 personnel can put a lot of stress on the defense with the threat of running the ball versus attacking vertically. With two tight ends, the offense now has eight total gaps they could run to. In turn, that motivates defenses to bring more defenders in to defend those gaps and leaves space vertically and outside.

The strength of 12 personnel is in its ability to help make the defense predictiable. You’ll often see Cover 3 with an extra safety down at the line of scrimmage to help against the run. You’ll also be able to create a predictable picture in the run game against even fronts. If you know how the defense is going to align, that makes the job of the offense that much easier.

The Bengals Tight Ends draw a tough matchup this week with Roquan Smith, Kyle Hamilton, and Trenton Simpson (looking better every week).

Respectfully the whole team does. We need to get healthy in DL. We aren’t great healthy there. But we’ve matched up well with them the last several times.

I am happy with what All is doing as a rookie especially blocking (but some on the board are making him out to be an all pro it seems) but i agree part is playcalling and Burrow maybe giving up some looking mid range , couple times at the game, i saw Gesicki and someone else open in mid range but Burrow had dumped it off...

No doubt though the TEs are helping us more as a group , Hudson can come back healthy, he will add to the mix and if we have injuries, we feel a bit better with this group

Yes, this matchup with the Ravens D is the toughest our TE's have faced this season for sure.

Sample should be a healthy scratch and then waived, he brings nothing.

Drew Sample has a small but important role on the roster and is playing well. The Bengals are doing a really nice job rotating the TEs and using their strengths.

Completely disagree. Crazy thoughts. Sample is a damn good blocker and made at least 3 nice catch and runs against the Chiefs.

Spot on and Drew Sample at H-Back at times really helps in pass protection.
