No, this isn't a thread to ***** about a dirty Ratbirds linebacker.

Back in 21, the Ravens traded for Smith and he immediately transformed the defense.  They went from lost to formidable as soon as he put on the ugly  purple jersey.  It was a case of an organization recognizing a need and doing what needed to be done when the right fit was available.

Does that player exist for the Bengals in 2024?  Would one player make a difference?

IMO a high end DE opposite Trey or a truly great pass rushing DT would be difference makers.  I'm unsure what the secondary needs.  There aren't a lot of bright spots there.

In a world where they actually attempt to make midseason trades, pass rush would be my preference.  If the secondary is beyond repair, at least get some pressure on opposing QBs to force some turnovers.

I would take Maxx Crosby in a LA minute lol..he's owed 22m next year and 24m the year after no way mike brown pony's up that type of money, plus Hendrickson would want a new deal something somewhere close to that..if only our owners really gave a damn about winning smh..That move for Maxx would definitely transform the defense and it would help lou as a play caller tremendously..

Adams. We should be confident getting a win averaging 45 ppg.

He's my current favorite non Bengal player. He's an absolute menace. Dude went a couple picks after Big Ryan Finley if I'm not mistaken.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Ain't going to happen. Tobin enjoys jerking off with his fourth round draft picks too much.

Devin White was just released by the Eagles, why not take a flyer on this guy and see if you can turn his career around. He was a stud in TB his first couple of years.

I'm not knocking you by replying and I completely understand the premise of your post. I agree with your thinking, but I feel the reality is that the sentiment to your post is either fantasy GM'ing or thinking about the Bengals organization as operating like other NFL teams that make trades. I guess I offer we don't propose any players because Duke isn't going to add any talent through a trade.

I do like the Maxx Crosby suggestion.

Haha I made my longer reply expressing the same opinion and then read your post. I enjoy your concise response more. Duke goes all night long by also enjoying his 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks too much. I suspect Mikey might get in on the fun with Duke.

Dexter Lawrence and Maxx Crosby we are talking multiple picks including AT LEAST one first round pick right?  (Dolphins aren't likely going to trade their rookie starting safety.) We are talking a top 5 edge defender and the literal 1 of 1 top Nose Tackle in the NFL...

The players are likely out there.

The Bengals value draft picks too much to trade them. Draft picks, are cost controlled for cheap value for 4-5 years.

We don't have anyone on our defense that makes the other team say "that guy is dirty". We have'nt had anyone other than VB to ever be thought of that way. WTS we need someone like that.

It's funny, we can't even hit on first or second rounders. Not sure why they'd think they can hit on anything beyond that.

Agreed, but what does Tee add to that recipe?

To a team that's going to likely be out of playoff contention? Probably not much because they'll need to sign him to a veteran deal in the offseason.

Now if we're talkin trading away a 1st rounder + more for someone like Crosby but then trading AWAY Higgins to another team to get a 1st/2nd rounder back, that might be something.

Wonder if GB would be interested in giving up something big for Higgins.
Taylor and LaFleur have that relationship from their days with the Rams too.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: 3-5 so far. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

The Ravens had several very good/great players on their defense already. They were just missing seemingly a critical cog. We have one really good player on defense and he is a pass rush specialist.
