DE Myles Murphy and DT/NY McKinnley Jackson both activated to the 53. We had 1 open spot, but DT Zach Carter waived to make room.
https://www.bengals.com/news/bengals-roster-update-murphy-jackson-activated-carter-waived
We do have an open PS spot if Carter clears waivers. He has been a PS level guy all along. Absent that 4th & 1 stuff vs Minny last year.
Someone said he does not have one pass rush win all year (though he did have 0.5 sacks). The inly DT with over 80 snaps without one. And as a converted DE, that was supposed to be the thing he was good at.

CB/S Dax Hill and OG/OT Jaxson Kirkland to IR, with a knee and torn bicep, respectively. Hill out for the year, most likely.
Falcons OG/OT Andrew Stueber signed to our 53 off their PS. First year player out of Michigan. On Pats PS last year.
Signed CB Micah Anraham to the PS. Rookie 6th rounder of the Colts out of Marshall who was cut.

Some musical chairs on the practice squad. DE Isaiah Thomas claimed off our PS by Detroit. And we responded by signing old friend DE Raymond Johnson to our PS, whom Detroit had signed off our PS previously, IIRC.

With 6 DTs on the 53, and both Tufeke & Guy inactive last week, 2 DTs on the PS seemed a bit much. And with Trent Brown out, Orlando Brown gimpy, and Kirkland and De'Ante Smith also out for the year, OT was getting pretty thin.

Who are these rando OTs they have after OBJ, Mims, and Ford?
Stueber is a complete unknown except those who might have remembered him when looking at the 2022 NFL draft for late-round OL prospects.
He's bounced around from NE to ATL and now on Cincy's PS with 0 games played.
Devin Cochran has stuck around on the Bengals PS since 2022 but with no elevations.
Now this dude named Andrew Coker who was an UDFA from this past draft?
They need to stop foolin around and bring in someone who actually has played some or more potential than these guys.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Chiefs land Hopkins from Titans for a 4th rd condiditional pick.
Amazing what good FOs (Chiefs, Bills, etc.) can get done to help bolster a contender during the regular season for cheap.

Don't want to start another thread, but how would people feel about a straight up Tee Higgins/Khalil Mack trade, both free agents in 2025? Assume no salary cap implications (difference of 3.6M). Chargers need a downfield threat desperately and we need to generate pass rush with a rotational player.

Nope...no way. What we would gain defensively we would lose offensively.

Do you realize how bad this offense would suck without Higgins?
I mean seriously, its basically "OK Tee and Jamar, go out there and make a play and we will throw you the ball".
ZT is going to get his shit exposed next year if/when they lose Tee.

I used to be pretty low on BJ Hill and his salary, but at this point you almost have to re-sign him.
This roster is going to be decemated because we just refuse to extend guys. Hill should have been extended this off-season when they lost Reader. Higgins should have been reuped 2 years ago.
Our long term cap is a joke. We literally have like three guys on a second contract after next year. They can afford to pay whoever the **** they want.

I don't necessarily disagree, but am seriously gonna lose my s*** if the Bengals can't generate any offense without playing three offensive players ~115 million per year.
I'd agree 'bout BJ Hill; concerns about age can be addressed by reducing snap count in the rotation. But how many DT3s do we need without a true nose tackle?

Our buddy in TENN is having a fire sale. Chido and Tyler have not done anything in TEN and are not part of a "future". Chido's been on IR but ready to come off.
I'd throw a late rounder their way for either. Boyd might be more of a We'll give you a 6th for a 7th.

It's true that the Bengals missed out on the available NTs last offseason, I think that they felt like Reader was a gimme re-sign at a lowball rate. So, just to fill the spot they signed Rankins. However, they did draft a couple of guys who can play NT in Jenkins and Jackson. Sure, Jackson is the true NT guy, but Jenkins has held his own in the spot, especially when you consider that he's undersized and a rookie. They need to keep Hill around for at least 2 more years, Rankins should be able to pass on this year, but they need to hit solid in DT in next season's draft as well.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I'd throw a late rounder their way for either. Boyd might be more of a We'll give you a 6th for a 7th.
Yes to Chido with Dax's injury. I just think that if we brought in Boyd it would really stump the growth of the youth for WR3, but if it is an
open competition it might not be a bad move. I think Jermaine Burton is going to show and show soon that he can be the guy and a much
more explosive WR3 than Tyler Boyd.
But for now if we just need reliable, I would not be against Boyd either. I don't know the particulars going on with Burton.
I definitely don't think Yoshi is the answer, but we will see.
