Good catch, likely couldn't have mitigated the pass rush of Aaron Donald, at least a little bit by running a couple throughout the game.

I'm all aboard with the belief that the Refs and the Chiefs are on the same team, but that specific penalty wasn't sketchy at all.

If you slow down the playback speed, you can see Mahomes was on his third step out of bounds when Ossai shoved him.

Cleary a penalty.  Just like the block on the back on the return that wasn't called that allowed the Chiefs to start at midfield as well as the non holding call on the Ossai penalty

Nothing. Just adding to the thread with Burrow news as it’s grown to become. Good or bad.

I hadn’t seen any qb rankings posted.

1st game - drives the team down and has a TD pass called back for OPI. Kicker misses a chip shot to tie it with :02 left.

2nd game - Final drive they were down 12 after the defense failed to stop the Browns after the Bengals pulled to within 23-28 with 5:55 in the game on a Burrow TD pass.

3rd game - Speaks for itself in the description above. Throws a game sealing INT with 1/2 minute left.

4th game - Defense gave up lead with :11 seconds after Burrow TD pass with 1:06 left in the game took the lead.

2020 - That's 3 clutch, 1 no clutch----2 team fails, 1 Burrow fail and 1 defecit greater than 1 score on last drive.

1st game - down 2 tds with 6:40 left. Gets to within 3 and D missed a chance at a sack on 3rd down for a chance at a GWD.

2nd game - mixed bag. Gets team in FG range twice, missed FG both times. Throws INT in OT.

3rd game - throws INT that leads to Jets lead then gets sacked on 3rd down before Jets run out clock.

4th game - Infamous conservative play calling in OT. Leads team to tying TD late with clutch passes then gets close in OT before 2 runs and a sack on 3rd down. SF wins game on next drive with TD.

5th game - Super Bowl. Failed to add to lead in 4th and gets the ball back with 1:25. Hits a couple passes then a failed run on 3rd and 1 and a quick sack while Ja'Marr was wide open down the right sideline.

2021 - That's 3 clutch, 2 no clutch----3 team fails, 1 clear Burrow fail in NYJ and a 50/50 team/Burrow fail in the SB.

2020/2021 -- 6 clutch, 3 no clutch

2nd game - vs Dallas. Completes three 3rd downs and one 4th down. Throws TD pass and 2pt conversion to tie it. Defense give up game on last second FG.

3rd game - vs Balt. Drives team down and scores go ahead rushing TD with 1:56 left. Defense gives up game on last second FG.

4th game - vs KC in AFCCG. Fails to drive the team to go ahead TD/FG after 3rd down sack. Defense gives up game on last second FG.

2022 - That's 3 clutch, 1 no clutch----3 team fails, 1 Burrow fail.

2020/2021/2022 -- 9 clutch, 4 no clutch.

1st game - down 17-27 drives team and throws TD pass with 3:28 left in game to make it 24-27. Ravens get two 1st downs and run out clock.

2023 - That's 2 clutch, 0 no clutch----1 fail to get stop and 1 drive for GWFG.

At this point i'd have to say...i'm embarrassed, as a Bengals fan, to have compared Burrow to early Rodgers and questioned if he was clutch late in games. He obviously, clearly is and is doing everything he can to keep the team in it late in losses.

Still have to do '24 just to finish it off but i want to state, clearly, that i was wrong. He's had 2 really big "fails" in the SB and AFCCG in '22 but overall, way more than not, he's him.

And ofc the context of those two games:

Jonah Williams - Quentin Spain - Trey Hopkins - Hakeem Adeniji - Isaiah Prince

Jackson Carman - Cordell Volson - Ted Karras - Max Scharping - Hakeem Adeniji

Vs Aaron Donald & Chris Jones. It was honestly a miracle that those games were even as close as they were. Not even Mahomes would have won it all with those OL’s. We saw what happened to him against Tampa in the SB he lost.

Also, thanks for all the work you did researching. Cheers

NP mang! It's been interesting to go back and watch just how the games played out and where the issues were.

Yeah, i left the word "fail" in there but thought it seemed a bit strong so i went back and put the " " around it. Sooo frustrating that this FO hasn't been able to give Joe good protection more often. Or that he hasn't been lucky enough to at least keep adequate guys healthy. And it's really frustrating as hell to see certain other teams just always do what's necessary to keep their team rolling. QB and offense goes to shit? No prob, let's just get a ridiculous elite defense...

I know. "Stats are for losers". Stats are also like words to a story. They tell how successful or not a guy is in keeping his team or getting his team in a chance to do what you said, get dubs. A QB can only do QB things in the time they're allotted. If they do what they can and another part of the team lets down, what can you do?

I'll just rest easier knowing that the creeping thoughts in my mind were false and see how it goes from here.

If Andy was still our qb, we'd probably have 0 wins.

Marvin Lewis made the playoffs with him as our qb 5 years in a row.
