Browns QB has a lot of off field issues and will never be the guy he was in Houston. And Dak is just overrated and always has been (Cowboys ya know) They might as well trade picks for DL/DB. They can’t draft their we positions anyways Duke should be embarrassed when he looks and sees how much draft capital they have invested into those positions and still they are the weakest spots on the team.

No the signing bonus was not the same as the ten million he was offered by Cincy ( the signing bonus and first year salary in LA was 12.5 million total) and living in the LA area is far more expensive than here....Yet that is not the point of my response at all ..Like everyone else in Cincinnati, we have all gotten mad at Mike Brown and some of the bonehead things he has done..Yet, when it comes to his personal relationships with the players and the way in which he and his organization has taken care of them and their families especially in times of personal crisis..he is a pretty special dude and his efforts have been well documented..Aside from a very few..and of course the national sportscasters..almost every player..to a person has had good things to say about the Brown family.....Hindsight is one thing..Whitworth could have suffered an injury on his first play on his new contract..I dont fault Brown for wanting to do year to year witha 35 year old player.... WE have had a crappy year..I think its due to a significant amount of injuries and lack of cohesiveness..But I am grateful we have a team in our city and the recent success they have had.. ..

LA offered three, and Whit beat Father time more than others tend to do. He was an outlier. It was still the smart offer. That’s what happens when you’re more interested in winning contract negotiations than games. OTOH the Rams rolled the dice on Whit, made a bunch of aggressive trades, and lo and behold they beat us in the Super Bowl.

It's been a while since I talked about Whit.

And if the Bengals had signed him to a three-year deal and he fell off, as most player his age do, the board would be crucifying them for giving a long-term deal to an aging player. Not matter what they do, the Front Office will never win with some posters.

Assuming they were waiting to see if they won to make a deal they now know - they won so they would be buyers not sellers. So make a deal or two.

With the Saints losing to the Panthers I think they will be selling. There are some interesting options there on the defense.

Shouldn't let Crosby leave Cincinnati.
He's the type of player and personality this defense needs.

Crosby and Trey together is so insane to think about. The Bengals would never make a move like that in a million years, but it’s a fun dream.
