Jermaine Burton still doesn’t know the freaking plays

Is honestly call LA and ask if they’d take Burton for Cupp straight up

I can't imagine any team trading anything for Burton right now. Maybe a 7th rounder from the 2050 draft or something.

Best bet is to see if something clicks with Burton and he reverses current course. Otherwise fish him around next offseason to see if anyone bites, and if not just cut him at and move on.

I'd venture to say there are a LOT of players in the NFL with ADHD and other learning disabilities and have all kinds of mental problems with the way they were raised. I'm not sure I would easily give him that excuse.
As for his future the way Burrow was looking at him as he pranced on by in that gif, even if he plays he's never going to see the ball until he finds a way to get Burrow to forgive him. Burrow does not suffer lazy pricks.

They were keeping it under wraps.....until they couldn't anymore. It's easy to get the wrong impression until the facts come out. I've seen people on social media STILL bashing Zac for not playing even after these facts came to light. Those are the people that remain dumbasses their entire life....not the folks that can change their minds when presented with new information. I was very critical of Marvin his last few years.... I've changed my thoughts on him a little bit after watching Whits interview.

I dunno.....Mike Hilton didn't mince many words when he was asked about the situation.

I've had a similar thought. If he has ADHD then it will affect his executive functioning skills. It's not an excuse, but could explain his decision making and he would still need to be accountable for his own choices and actions.

I know the Patriots once employed someone to help players with executive functioning skills and learning strategies to learn the playbook.

I wish the guy luck..again there's probably stuff we don't know about..I think the realities of this season have finally caught up to Joe and he's just pissed..lets hope he stays that way and has some serious discussions with players, coaches and management about the state of our Bengals....My God man you and I have no idea how Burrow feels about Burton and this fictional narrative is just that..fiction.....have a great day

personally I don't think he's purposefully exhibiting punkish behavior..something is amiss,I think the Bengals were aware of this after talking with Saban and are doing their best to work with Burton..lots of people with ADD or ADHD are able to function and do reasonably well..But..the NFL is tough..who knows..I hope Burton does well and gets more opportunities..You know..if you think about it..even punkish young players don't miss walk throughs their rookie years..Solid veterans that are making big bucks  that are pissed and maybe even want to be traded do..Some things are juts not registering with Jermaine I believe..have a great day

asking all athletes to be compassionate about others ..you will find some unable to do so..I think that if Burton was just a rookie exhibiting punkish behavior..he would have been placed on the practice squad weeks ago..or let go..Let us both hope he is successful..he certainly has the physical tools to be a very good receiver..

I also don't think he's exhibiting punkish/malcontent behavior, but rather just outright bad decision making, or, to put it bluntly, dumbass behavior with his choices.

Yes, individuals with ADHD are bright, talented, and can contribute to society in a successful way. If he has ADHD or a specific learning disability then it is manageable. I'm guessing the Bengals organization wouldn't invest in such help for players, but if his agent is good then he can find Burton support.

But you could tell Joe wasn't happy.

Burton may well have cooked his goose

I was of the opinion it was just coaches not liking Burton, but after all this news sounds like hes doing this to himself. I don't care what your problems are when they say he was a 'no call, no show' that just doesn't cut it. In this day and age theres not reason you can't communicate if you have an issue and can't show up. Not giving any notice is inexcusable, especially given this was was going to be a big opportunity for him. And given he was part of the game plan that you now have to modify within a short time frame, Burrow should be pissed.

loved Marvin Lewis..he is a very solid person both personally and professionally..but..in retrospect..and if you want honesty..Marvin over the course of his 16 years was blessed with some very good  skill  and defensive players..good offensive linemen and quarterbacks...H e could not win a playoff game..It was more than time for him to move on..He was paid well and seems to be having a great life...until he went to the Las Vegas Raiders..oh well

none of us have had conversations with coaches, and /or players like Burrow and we have no idea as to all the details of what is going on..But..I do agree with you...whether its just punkish behavior or some kind of psychological issues..I think the Bengals have tried their best and we may be approaching athat time when decisions have to be made on Jermaine..I dont think Burrow is pissed at Jermaine Burton..I just think the realities of this season have finally caught up to him..But  the cool thing ..Burrow has credibility and gravatas..I feel certain that he has had  many discussions with coaches and management that we are unaware of..Anyway..have a great day..its time for Pappy and golf

Trying to diagnosis the kid with ADHD over the internet from some interviews LOL!

It's been mentioned he was a LARGE part of the gameplan vs the Raiders but was disciplined for a no call, no show to the Saturday morning walkthrough. I would guess that the newly wealthy/slightly famous 23 year old kid had a really late Friday Night.

Burrow is def pissed at Jermaine. Because he knows it's time to stop playing around and be serious for real. And then you have a guy like Burton just lazing around, which would drive any serious teammate of his mad

I made it perfectly clear that I am not an MD..but as a  retired health care provider and clinician @ the beginning of my career, I do have some insights ..But I am entitled to my opinion as you are yours..Have a great day.

I'm not sure where the mindset of "Coaches bench players because they don't like them" comes from. Coachs' jobs depend on winning games, and to do that you play your very best players unless there's a real problem with them. Personal likes and dislikes about personality don't factor into it. If all the coaches dislike a player, then maybe there's a reason.

Frank..I always love your posts. But you and I have not spoken with Burrow and we don't know what is agitating him. He did come out and say that he was not happy with the way the team was performing in the 3rd quarter..Yet, regardless..whether Burton plays or not..he is not responsible for the issues the club is having this year.More importantly, hopefully Burrow is taking that anger and having some serious sitdowns with the  head coach and management..take care

Burrow is relying on Burton to be his number 2 receiver. They have the gameplan set all week, and then Burton just bails. Of course Burrow would be frustrated.

Eric opened his post qualifying that he's not a doctor/professional who can make such a determination. My reply to him in agreement signaled the same designation that I also do not have the qualifications to diagnose. Neither of us were trying to diagnose Burton. Your "LOL!" interpretation is just wrong since neither made a diagnosis.

I do have other professional qualifications and decades of experience (which makes me recognize I'm old) to stand by my observations about Burton as a potential talking point on a forum where most posts made are just us fans throwing out opinions. I'm only speculating and recognize that I have nothing to support the take since I do not know or work with him. He very well could be a 23 year old enjoying his new found income which has contributed significantly to his bad choices. I've posted it a few times now: the dude might just be dumb as hell.
