Also keep in mind that a number of the games Tee played were against weaker defenses.

Just because he has had some good individual outings doesn't mean the offense as a whole has been dramatically better.

We could let Tee walk and get a real K and make up a decent amount of that ppg differential at a fraction of the price.

The Bengals always seem to think they're a couple tweaks away from winning. Then, the next year they have a whole new set of problems.

This isn't a team that's a Kicker away. The entire defense is bad at every level. Slow. No pass rush.

The Chargers are the #1 scoring defense league and we're not going to sign a new Kicker;we're stuck with McPherson(who we just payed).

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Was the FO hoping he was going to suck or something? Everyone and their dog knew the price was only gonna go up.

Yep, the dog even knew... Mellow

I honestly think they will be fine without him. They will need to go out and get a solid WR in free agency or draft one within the first two rounds, though.

He aint coming back. It's over.

I thought Burton could maybe be an answer for some of the loss of Higgins but man has he been unimpressive. I know he's had some long catches but some of the other throws to him, his effort has been horrible. He hasn't come even close to winning any contested balls that I've seen.

They should use the money they wasted on the franchise tag to sign Trey Smith in free agency, along with draft another people mover at Guard in day 1-2 of the draft. The team should also come to their senses and cut bait with a few contracts on defense and reinvest that money into players like DJ Reed, Charvarius Ward, or Rasul Douglas at CB, maybe strongly consider signing Justin Simmons to play Safety?

Honestly, I'd be thrilled with a free agent haul of Trey Smith and Justin Simmons as the "big money" spends of the offseason, as I truly think that had Dax Hill not went down for the year there could have actually been hope for the secondary this year.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

The scheme appears to be weak here. Tee beat a double team himself for a long TD last night.

That said, he misses a chunk of games each year.

Thoughts...

See, there really is no conundrum. Take that salary well north of 100 million and get me a couple of G, a tough, physical back, another DE, an offensive coaching change of mentality and one that buys into the concept that they can get 2-3 yards a few times running the ball on 3rd/4th down instead of throwing deep fades most games that are all or nothing plays for the most part, etc.

Yeah...except the Bengals won't sign quality starters at those positions most likely. We'll get more Stone's and Scott's and Rankins.

Hell, I thought for sure he was done for the night when he needed to get the numbing cream after that late hit.

Yup. Then seeing him later trying to drive through 3 tacklers after missing the previous 3 games with a quad injury reinforced my belief that he absolutely could have played a week or two earlier but held out until he was fully healthy because he was on the franchise tag. You'd think the Bengals FO would learn from all their prior uses of the FT, but I guess that's what makes them the Bengals FO.

Tee is a luxury this team can’t afford. They need defensive help in the worst way.

Need to add an End as well in FA, but I like your thoughts here as usual Sunset. Hubbard isn't getting it done and we need a proven Edge
on the other side of Hendrickson. I like Murphy's upside and he made some plays last night as did Ossai but we need proven. Trey Smith,
Justin Simmons and a pass rusher while adding players in the Draft with a new DC and DL coach and the Defense might not be that far off.

Oh I think he was showcasing what he can do to potential suitors on primetime game.

We have had the worst history with the Franchise Tag. Tee might of been the best investment lol

He has actually played well when he has played unlike all the rest it seems. Still, let someone else pay him to play half the games.

The best move would have to be to tag and trade him during the draft and draft a WR.
