on the other side of Hendrickson. I like Murphy's upside and he made some plays last night as did Ossai but we need proven. Trey Smith,
Justin Simmons and a pass rusher while adding players in the Draft with a new DC and DL coach and the Defense might not be that far off.

I get that we need a second pass rusher on the DL, I just don't know that the money will be available for another premium guy on the DL. They also need that position to be able to shut the run down, as well. I would predict that if the team believes in Murphy and Ossai developing into reliable guys, I'd look for that position to get a boost with a 2nd or 3rd tier free agent or draft pick.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

3 points is massive. Most spreads are -3. When a starting QB misses a game the spread shifts 4-7. 3 for a WR2 is huge

Chase is going to be the highest paid WR in the game this upcoming off-season.

I would love to keep Tee and hope they find a way, but he deserves a big contract.

If you want to play that game, last year the Bengals scored 19.8 ppg with Tee and 23 ppg without Tee.

That's a mirage created almost exclusively because Tee missed the start of the season where Zac doesn't have his team prepared regardless if Tee is there or not....
2024 the first two weeks (without Tee) we averaged 17.5 ppg on offense.
2023 the first two weeks (WITH Tee) we averaged 10 ppg on offense.
2022 the first two weeks (WITH Tee) we averaged 18.5 ppg on offense.
2021 the first two weeks (WITH Tee) we averaged 22 ppg on offense.
2020 the first two weeks (WITH Tee) we averaged 21.5 ppg on offense.
.....That's just Zac Taylor football right there and Tee being there or not has nothing to do with it.

The last 3 games that Tee missed we were averaging 30.7 ppg.

I said it weeks ago

Might as well sign him if they money isn’t gonna be used to get a STAR player

The practice of replacing pro bowl guys with cheaper bums is trash and we should be ashamed for ruining a healthy Burrow season.

If you aren’t gonna spend the money why kill the only reason Chase doesn’t get tripled every play?

Honestly this. Does anybody have confidence that the money they spend from not giving Tee a contract will be beneficial to the team? The front office has been horrid at drafting and signing free agents.

At least we know that Higgins can ball when healthy. Might as well give him the money as he’s a known quantity.

I'd hate to watch Tee blowing up with another team like Mixon is (yall watching what we missing) and Bates...

I watch all football. Mixon can do ok if not being met by three defenders on the hand off. It was just the cool thing to hate on him. Run game sucked and he happened to be a running back so was lumped in. Yet the true garbage men are still here.

And Mixon / Bates / Whit ... had the last laugh. Will Tee?

Spend the 25m annually on two good guards.

Pretty much agree with you. Cinci. has just as much a philosophical issue as a talent issue. They're a finesse football team playing in an extremely physical division and that just ain't going to cut it.A HC that completely gives on on the run waaay too much. When you have a mindset consistently that when you need 2-3 yards on 3rd down anywhere, let alone inside the opponents 35-40 and you continually throw the football then that stamps exactly who your team is.

Perfect case in point was the game against the Raiders. Up 21 in the 4th with 12 plus minutes to go, 1st down, and you throw a quick hitter/screen to your WR behind the LOS and it gets picked for 6. Any coach in America with a half a brain would start to milk the clock at that time especially with your RB around 100 yards at that point and wearing down the defense.

But, they'll likely just add more Geno Stone's with his money. We may need to build a team that can score 35 a game as I doubt they can fix the defense in 1 year.

If the Bengals are going to pay a player not named Chase or Hendrickson 20+ mil this off-season it better be Trey Smith.

Hard to sign him to a long term deal. Hard to replace. Tag him
Again. That is a lot of money tied up into 4 players (burrow, chase, Hendrickson, Higgins), but This group represents the four best players on our team (by a lot). Most everyone else is comprised of guys that would be interchangeable or upgradable.

A guard? You know that’s never going to happen.

I hate it because I like him as a person off the field.... maybe even more than as a player....but they can't justify the money he wants vs his availability. They also can't tie up that much with the WR position, assuming they pay Chase.

They could make it at least respectable, but the question is would they. Purge the roster, get serious and creative, hire some damn scouts, and it theoretically could happen. Alas.... it's the Bengals front office we're talking about here.

Also keep in mind that a number of the games Tee played were against weaker defenses.

Just because he has had some good individual outings doesn't mean the offense as a whole has been dramatically better.

We could let Tee walk and get a real K and make up a decent amount of that ppg differential at a fraction of the price.

WTF has happened to Shooter? This kid has been a stud his whole career, and now he can't hit the broad side of a bulls ass with a bass fiddle. I just don't understand it.
