That's sarcasm isn't it?
To add to the OP, I was listening to WLW this morning on the way to work and Boiman also pointed to Duke Tobin as the main issue. He said Zac isn't free from criticism, but added that "the person shopping for the groceries isn't doing a very good job". Kind of ironic, considering the link to Parcels in this thread. In fact, he pointed to the front office as the biggest problem, noting that players play hard for him, and that's a sign of good culture and a good HC.

That's a bingo, IMHO
They just can't help themselves; they have to throw their hat in the ring on player/draft decisions, salaries, retention, on and on.
And it's our downfall. I think there's an element here of the old saying to many cooks spoil the broth.

I thought it was a good insight from a former player, not some schlubs on social media or a podcast. He even mentioned Bill Parcels when talking about it. He pointed to the good job they did in building the 21 roster, and then how they proceeded to let it go to shit like they always do.

That would be an interesting analysis to see. For example, when Duke took Myles Murphy what players were left on the draft prospect rankings lists from various self-labeled draft experts?
In hindsight, would do Duke do better if he just used an internet list instead of his own professional judgment calls? I'd find it humorous to see a break down.
Many were pounding the table for Bryan Bresee, the DT out of Florida, who was taken the immediate pick after Murphy.
Bresee has 10.0 sacks through 28 games played.
Murphy has 3.0 through 24 games played.
Not to mention Bresee is doing it from DT spot, so it's expected he'll have lower than a DE.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

And it just doesn't make any damn sense!
I remember a poster, Oline guru, really good Oline blocking breakdowns. Had a different name on mother ship then he was Red something on here. Haven't seen him around in couple years, anywho.
He posted a big long thread about Paul Brown and Otto Graham. And how Paul preached find your Otto Graham and everything will fall in place after that, easy peasy. It was probably Palmer at the time but Red was saying Mike was heading right down that path. "We have Palmer so piss on the Oline, Dline, DB's, RB, on and on." And Red aws probably right on target.
Mike and Co. today - We have Joe so everything else will be good. And you see how that's working out.

Royle Redlegs.
Yes, absolutely agreed. I think the difference was, Paul understood you needed blockers in front of Otto. His first draft pick in Cincinnati was a Center, after all. Mike's so foolish, he didn't understand that Paul was talking about skill players falling in place around a good QB.
What baffles me, is they'll get a good roster every now and again, and won't do one or two things to put it over the top. Things like getting Dalton a good center. Getting Palmer a few game changers on defense. Getting Joe a good line, etc. Then, they'll just let that good roster walk out the door and replace those guys with scrubs. Literally WTF.....

Yes Redlegs
And it makes no DAMN SENSE why they let it crumble away when they're right on the cusp, right there, so close.
