I think Chase Brown is a beast most of his runs that gain decent yardage are off script not going thru the normal blocking hole design of the play. Much like Burrow needing to escape the pocket and make throws on the run outside of the pocket since the pass play broke down from bad play design. 

If our team could run block well and open holes for him, he would be much more productive.

While I agree with most, I don't agree with the bolded.

He's performing ok as a 1st round rookie, but he's allowed 25 total pressures on 367 pass blocking snaps.
To put that into perspective, last year's RT Jonah Williams allowed 41 total pressures on 730 pass blocking snaps.
Given Mims has about half those snaps, he's on pace to allow 50 total pressures on ~700-750 pass block snaps.

I'm not saying Mims can't get there, but I've noticed clear times he's gotten beat through his rookie season so far.
So I'm not willing to make that bold statement of future All-Pro just yet.
Let's just get to above average first :)

I'm with you on 4 of 5.

Mims looks good for a rookie, but he struggles at times. I can't say whether he'll be an all-Pro or not. His PFF grade is currently 58.6.

Still, he's doing fine for a rookie. Could have been worse.

Too often we see our drafted lineman peak as a rookie. Hopefully he continues to progress.

Sometimes there is a hole there and he misses it too. Instead of going inside, he bounces outside where he gets tackled by 3 guys.

Many of his bigger runs come after our passing game is being explosive and the defense stops caring if we run.

Thanks for this thread. Makes me feel much better. We might have something special to build around with these players. Mims I think would
be much better with a decent RG next to him as well. I think most of us all knew we had some special players in Burrow, Chase and Trey.

Rehkow can boom them Punts. Needed this badly. As Ochocincos said in his other thread, Chase Brown is also looking like a good player for
the future for us and is extremely explosive if only he had some good blocks from the IOL.

Then, I'd say a veteran starting CB would help a lot. Safety is an issue too.

My guess is the Bengals just make some tweaks. Same coordinators and HC. Some position coaches leave.

They'll draft a replacement for Tee and throw a draft pick at the defensive line. Maybe sign 2-3 value free agents for both lines.

Especially IOL. We are literally killing our franchise QB.

Zac needs to give up calling plays.

Burrow needs to make Chase his first read every play. He's the only truly reliable guy.

So far both Jenkins and Jackson look to be keepers. They need more snaps and we still need a big body NT in the group. Murphy has flashed some pass rush chops when they play him and his run defense is doing okay. Again he needs more snaps. Battle and Daijahn Anthony should be the safeties for now and look at trying CTB as a free safety. CB the room is just totally depleted right now.

Unfortunately on OL the only promising youngster to try is Lee, bouncing Karras out to G. They need to go IOL early in the draft.

Which is absolutely embarrassing. When a baseball team is excellent up the middle (C/SS/2B-CF) they're usually a really good team. When a basketball team has a great BIG, an excellent PG and another really good scorer they're usually really good. So when a football team had a great QB, a tremendous WR, an all pro DE (I won't agree with you totally just yet on Mims) they should be pretty darn good.

As bad as the D has played this team is 2 FG's away from multiple wins and a bad call or two from another win. That's another 3 wins.

Common denominator here is a bad FO too ignorant in their ways to make moves when needed and really bad play-calling on multiple offensive possessions.

Thankfully it looks like they do. Carter was a terrible pick, but the others have shown good things already which is great. Murphy needs more
snaps in Hubbard's spot that right now is being wasted, same with Kris Jenkins who has already looked better than Rankins. Ossai flashes here 
and there, Mims should be damn good down the road and could be great with his balance/size and athleticism.

McKinnley Jackson's athleticism has really surprised me, he can really move for a Nose Tackle and he has a bit more pass rush to him than I 
thought he would at this junction. Get good trench coaches in here and there is hope while adding some guys.

Best WR ever is and probably will always be Jerry Rice. Chase is amazing and can easily have a HoF career.... but even if Chase averages 1,700 yards and 10 TDs a season for the next 10 straight years he still will be shy of Rice's records. It's a bit like Pete Rose's hit record. It's just not getting broken. The only competition is for who is the 2nd best WR of all time.

Hendrickson doesn't play enough. He's a guy who always plays <70% of the snaps and is extremely talented pass rusher, but is an incomplete player and that'll keep him back from being DPoY material. 68% of Hendrickson is good, but then it's diluted by 30% of Ossai. Meanwhile Twatt is playing 91% and Crosby at 95% means you're getting them almost all the time and not their backups who are terribly ineffective. Plus being on a shitty defense doesn't help.

Burrow and Rehkow comments are legit.

Mims I think it's a decent rookie year, but I haven't seen future All-Pro quality from yet. I would like to see him with a new coaching staff top help his future before he gets poisoned by this current one more.

For a rookie Mims gets to the 2nd level on blocks more than anyone on the line including OBJ who when healthy is still a pretty good lineman. Trent Brown is mediocre even before he got hurt and for Mims to be playing better than him as a rookie means the ceiling is ridiculously high.
