Tobin needs a substantial increase in scouting department. Forget the freaking locker room, focus on obtaining good talent! I was definitely with you on Humphrey.

But the NFL isn't scripted, no way. I am absolutely not blaming the refs for the loss against SD, but how many calls in a row did the refs clearly blow... I know it was three or four. Calling Burrow for grounding and looking the other way when Herbert was clearly not called for obvious grounding. And they were grabbing Burrow's facemask on about every other time they got to him. No one will convince me they are not now betting on games through surrogates. Too many obviously missed calls all across the league.

It appears to be the choices of the ownership... and possibly Tobin. I don't really know. I think the coaches have a voice, but ownership authorizes selection. They have a very bad track record. The Jackson Carmen choice was scary bad. I've heard somewhere that was a Mike Brown choice. Just too many really bad decisions coming from somewhere. The scouts don't pull the trigger. I thought they had good draft this year. And I like Jenkins. But given the priority of protecting our franchise, I would have gone for the best O-Lineman on the board. Frazier has had a good year with Pittsburgh. That's who I wanted.

Agree that the Bengals always find unique ways to blow games on their own even without the refs help. Again, I agree that these games are no doubt scripted for a certain finish with certain teams getting certain calls that DO determine the outcomes. Whether or not betting is happening it wouldn't surprise me at all but I definitely feel the refs get their "instructions" beforehand. Yea, still shots of Burrow's facemask turned sideways on his head and no call more than one time. It only takes one call to change the outcome of a close game and the Bengals seem to never benefit from those calls. They are forever in the NFL's doghouse.

Why not bring in Vrabel as an assistant HC and DC. I wish they would also bring in an OC. Reid is a great OC/HC, yet Chiefs give him and OC.
If Zac does poorly in 2025 start of year, they can fire him, and replacement Vrabel is in house already.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

People mention BB and his likely desire for control, but as I mentioned above, Vrabel demanded this in Tennessee, and they hired Ran Carthon for this, precipitating his departure. He's also a tier one prick, although I would take a chance on him despite this. Unfortunately, I doubt this would be the type of coach they would bring in though due to his strong and abrasive personality and likely desire for aforementioned control ; traits that the Brown family seem to pass on.

Mike Vrabel is 10 games over .500 for his career. Our guy has yet to cross that threshold. Not sure why his services are still wanted.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Because in 5 years he brought us 5 playoff wins, two Division Titles, 2 AFCCGs, an AFC Championship and a Super Bowl we were a fraction of a second from winning. You can blast his win loss record, and his record this year, but you can't erase this team has had more success in the last 5 years than it has in its entire existence.

There's going to be a LOT of dissapointed people who think Zac Taylor and his staff will be let go at the seasons end.
The Brown family stuck with Marvin for 15 years. Zac has 3 winning seasons out of 6 seasons and 3 out 5 since Burrow was drafted. Taylor is staying put. You might see a change at DC or OL, but I wouldn't expect wholesale changes. This team isnt far away from being 11-6 instead of 6-11 this season, and the Browns and FO see that too.

Far from it, give Vrabel our offensive talent and we are NOT 4-7, and we actually have toughness...that's also the difference between Tomlin and ZT. Give Tomlin our roster and the record is probably at worst flipped to 7-4.

I listened to him speak shortly after getting the Titans job, he likes a strong OL and a rushing attack that can pound the ball and a stifling defense. People sometimes don't realize that he couldn't run the offense he wanted to here in Cincinnati, as Zac is much too heavily involved in the offense for an OC to be able to express his own offense. Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations -Frank Booth 1/9/23 |
