I remember him being poached, but I guess I forgot he struggled early on in Philly.

I was being sarcastic, obviously, but when things start turning south, I always look at who's been here the longest as the first head to roll among the coaches. LOL

Elliott who some have lamented the loss of came into tonight at 80% on FGs and has so far gone 2/4 on FG (now 73.7% on the year) and 0/1 on PAT tonight.

Mac is fine. Different holder, different team circumstances ect... The lamenting of the loss of Elliot was because of the way it went down. How the team screwed around and lost him, and then it was magnified because the Eagles won the Ship! Imho, both are good young kickers.

Wtbs, what really should be discussed is how the Eagles went from the bottom of the league defensively last season, to the top of the league defensively this season, and how they easily contained Daniels while our entire division struggled to contain him?

Obviously this discussion should be held in another thread, but it seems a viable topic for discussion. I mean, is Vic Fangio that good of a DC? He's been around for years, so we know that he's decent, but that D went from the bottom to the top in about half of a season.

Didn't they bring Bullock in. Elliott struggled in preseason. They put Bullock on the roster and Elliott on the practice squad and the Eagles claimed him.

The interesting thing is that the Bengals used a 5th Round pick on him and he never kicked for them. 1st kicker selected. That's what makes it worse or appear worse.

Yup, that's how it went down.

Yes sir! Typical Bengals! Scouted him as a 5th rd pick and gave up on him all within a 6 month period. The Eagles love reclaiming talented players that this organizations scouts and coaches give up on too quickly. They done the same thing with a young OL-man out of Mich St, a Guard, if I remember correctly. I just can't seem to recall his name at the moment.

He has been missing kicks during warm ups as well so it is not just game situations. He's missing them with the same left slide we see in the game

Is it flawed mechanics, or is it between his ears?  Maybe both, LOL!

It is the yips.

While he is a Bengal, I hate how accepting his misses are by the team...

Seems like some of us tried to warn the rest of you about the existence of yips.

They exist. The tooth fairy does not.

Actually Bullock was on our roster, we drafted Elliott to give him competition not to hand him the job and  Elliott failed in preseason and we kept Bullock.  Career wise not a great difference in accuracy Bullock 83% vs Elliott 85%,  Elliott has a strong advantage over 50, 12% better

Darren Simmons officially blames all 3 of the FG specialists for the misses.

Quote:“It's just been inconsistency at all three levels,” he said. “It obviously starts sometimes with the snap, and then it goes to the hold and then it comes to him. For whatever reason, they haven't put that all together yet and developed that level of trust.

“The consistency of the operation, it's something that to become more habit, and you've just got to see it time and again,” Simmons added. “They have to develop that. And they will. They'll get there. I have no doubt in my mind. It's just taking longer than I thought it would.”

Quote:“Sometimes it's just attention to detail with alignments,” Simmons said. “We do a lot of things pre-snap to adjust our angle that we snap it at, to help with our protections. And I think sometimes the attention to detail of Cal's alignment gets off a little bit.

“And the natural tendency for a snapper is to snap it back inside toward the holder's body,” he continued. “That's the comfort zone. Nobody wants to snap it out where the holder can't get to it. Sometimes when he misses, he misses inside a bit. But he’s been much better.”
Controlling the laces has been one of the biggest issues where consistency has lagged.

Sometimes it was the snap, sometimes it was the hold, and like in LA sometimes it was all on Evan

So we are into week 13 and multiple aspects of our kicking game are on the fritz?  Neat.

Funny how plenty of other teams have the personnel changes but are not churning out excuses on the constant.

1. I don't see excuses, I see him calling out issues that they need to correct.
2. Maybe Adomitis can be cut, but are you really cutting the other two?

Even his extra points are to the left, and no way would they be good, if he was farther back
