***Week 13 GameDay Thread - Steelers @ Bengals***

Hey, what happened years ago means the person is above reproach for current events. At least, that is what Zac defenders tell me. Two AFC championship games or something like that. Like the defense wasn't there making plays, as well. Issues were covered up. The are exposed now. Mask is off and off season is going to be very brutal.

He got a garbage time drive of 70 yards of offense and a TD. So now he looks like he had a great day. 237 yards, 2 TD/0 INT, 101.3 QB Rating plus 79 rushing yards. Plus it was then a mythical "one score loss".

To be fair, some Bengals fans are acting very similar.

I'm sure we won't hear about it on any of the shows like NFL Game Day Finale or anything.

I didn't see Zac making any noise, which pisses me off, but not real surprising.

I could be wrong and maybe he was in the ref's ear but it was definitely obvious that the defender had caused our guy to jump.

Zac was complaining a lot, as was Cappa, who was called with the penalty. The TV cameras showed a lot of Bengals complaining about the call. And the announcers were very clear that it should have been a penalty on Pittsburgh. And refs discussed the call, because i don't think all the officials thought it was really on the Bengals. Amazing to blow a call like that.

Hey hey, let’s not get nasty. I said I was rooting for the Bills.

I’m sure they even put over the course of the year, you score to get within 1 score and they score to get within 1 score.

Bengals record since 2019 in 1 score games is 17-35. You can’t spin that as a positive no matter what you do.

Announcers also made it very clear that the CTB pick-6 should have been a penalty. Seems weird to quibble over a false start when it led to a FG so you're still +4 points in blown calls.

The referees in their pool report were asked.  They said Pickens stumbled before CTB ever touched him and that they considered the hit as incidental as a result of the stumble

Here’s the explanation for the no call on CTB.

Well, Burrow and Chase were complaining about the call. Take it up with them.

“Bad call,” Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase said.

“That was a disappointing call,” quarterback Joe Burrow added. “I have a lot of respect for that crew, but they missed that one.”

Just to correct those who think people are taking solace from losing by one score, no they aren't. Losing by one score makes it all the more frustrating as it is just another example of the team having no ability to close games out.

One thing I learned from the refs today is. 12 men on the field can be called if the snap is "imminent". Unsure I've ever heard that before

Cannot believe we were unable to "closeout" a game in which we trailed by 17 in the 4th quarter.

Lou needs to go but the reality is that he has absolutely ZERO defensive backfield talent to work with.  Hilton is the only decent back they have and he sucks in man coverage, every other DB is pure TRASH.  Keep Wilson, BJ Hill, and Hendrickson and cut everybody else.  Damn, a defense comprised of scout players can do better than this absolute trash defense.  I mean it's so bad it's almost unbelievable.
