One of the Broncos, Ravens, and Chargers would need to lose out

That about sums it up as the only likely scenario I see.

We could end up tied with Denver, because we would own head to head. But with our AFC record, and we tied with the following teams, we would lose out to LA chargers, Colts and Dolphins, since they have a better AFC record.

Anyone who has watched this defense play knows damn well there's not a snowball's chance in hell we are going 9-8. We will be extremely lucky to go 7-10.

I forget we get to play the Broncos. That makes it different. As bad as the Bengals are, when they play decent they can beat anybody
even if I think the Broncos are a better team especially on Defense. Burrow and our weapons can score on anyone. I bet the Broncos
beat the Colts no problem.

The D wasn't bad last night, I know, it was against a backup QB but Rush has played well in the past starting and has good weapons.

Two things are certain this year:

1. The Bengals are NOT making the playoffs.

2. The Chiefs are going to 3peat.

Miami and Indy are 5-4 in the AFC and we are 2-6.

So not only can they not finish better than us, they can't finish the same as us as we're probably not winning that tiebreaker.

Meanwhile the Colts have the 30th remaining strength of schedule and the Dolphins have the 27th... and the Broncos play the Chiefs in week 18, who quite possibly with be sitting their starters.

I made this thread as a joke last week so we wouldn't have to do all this nonsense.

I’m the only person here who is still optimistic about Khalil herbert. I wouldn’t call myself negative

I did read that. Fair point.
I do understand your reasoning but as long as there's still a chance (que the Dumb & Dumber GIF) I'm keeping my hope alive.

I like the little I see from Herbert. I know Chase Brown is playing very well, but I would like to see more snaps from Herbert running the ball.

He had some good Returns last night.

I played around with the playoff simulator. If they win out, I actually think they make it. I just don’t think they’ll win out. Tough games against Cleveland, Denver, and Pittsburgh.

But it only takes Hou, Ind, Mia, den to lose some games. Denver has a tough schedule. indi not so much, but there are upsets every single week in the nfl. The playoff teams as they sit today will change before end of year.

If bengals win out I predict they would make it. I just don’t think they’ll win more than 2-3 more games.

I’ve personally seen nothing good from herbert at the RB spot with cincy, but I know that his 22 and 23 weren’t flukes

Hmm, didn't think it was that likely even if we won out. Good to know as I wouldn't be surprised if we won out.

You actually want broncos to win this week versus colts. Then broncos lose out to bengals, chargers and chiefs. You would need the chiefs to drop a game to ensure they the final week matters and buffalo is still on their tails. In this scenario, bengals are ahead of broncos.

You need the dolphins AND colts to finish worse than 9-8. From what it looks, 9-8 tiebreakers go to dolphins and colts. Colts have a cupcake schedule, so you really would want Denver to beat the colts here and then hopefully colts drop 1 of final 3.

Long story short, it’s not a zero… but it’s as close as it can get.

1) Broncos finish 1-3, with their win against colts, losses against bengals, chiefs and chargers.
2) Colts finish 2-2 or worse. Broncos, jags, titans and giants. Could run the table.
3) Dolphins finish 2-2 or worse. Texans, niners, @browns (this matters), jets.
4) Bengals win out. Titans, browns, broncos and Steelers.

If bengals win on Sunday (titans), they cannot be eliminated from playoffs this week.

Yes exactly right. I think colts lose 2. I think Miami loses 2. Broncos could lose 3, but I don’t think they do. And I don’t think knee win 4.

Hasn't had many chances to be fair. We will see as he gets more, he is a better runner than any of our Backs. Chase Brown is all speed
without very good vision. Herbert is thicker and has good vision if he gets a hole.

I’m not saying it’s likey, just my opinion. I think 9-8 could get them in and wouldn’t be all that surprised if the seven seed is 9-8.
