Bengals Win Out + Broncos & Colts go 2-3, Dolphins go 3-2 & WE'RE IN!!!
(12-26-2024, 02:07 AM)WildCat Wrote: they can just put the colts dolphins and bengals on ice now. winning out doesn't matter since the broncos won't be losing out. thank for playing.

I disagree.

If the bengals win Saturday, Bo Nix is going to be in a pressure cooker the last week. From what I saw when he played the chargers, he can’t throw downfield well, hardly at all. Carson Wentz will want to play well for the chiefs and this could be the “chance” for him to showcase he can still start.

Bengals take care of business Saturday and that last weekend, anything can happen.

December 2017, Mahomes (as the backup) makes his first start against Denver @ Denver vs Paxton Lynch. Chiefs wins 27-24, mahomes doesn’t throw a TD, but does enough to win.

Now, broncos were not playing for anything, but it’s the NFL and a result like that is more than possible.

You need to see a colts or phins (hopefully) both loss this weekend. At least one will help the stars align.

I hope the Steelers bring their A+ game anyway, I want bengals to have to play their best and win to somewhat prepare them (if they make it).

Bigger issue than Mahomes not playing is how many defensive starters do KC rest? I think Carson tries to play well as I'm sure he still wants a crack at a starting job somewhere else.

Yeah, the Offense was out of sync to start the season and depending on which camp you reside, you'll find someone in the opposite camp to blame. I have little doubt that Ja"Mar wasn't full-go when the season started and JC at 100% might have made a difference of 1 if not both of our early games.

WTS, I do blame Zac for the way he handled the distraction (if he had any say-so). IMO they should have not let the tail wag the dog. They should have set a date.

"If you are not practicing fully by XX Date, you are not playing game 1".

Of course, it also sucked that their whole TC had to revolve around Tee being WR1 and then him going down just before game 1.

The fact that this team starts out in the hole every year is a testament of how this coaching staff operates.  How do you lose to NE the first game of the season???  Jamar or no Jamar;  Tee or  no Tee:  figure it out, adjust and execute. Find their weak point and attack.  This team is better than that but they looked like a high school team out there.  They were outcoached by a rookie HC.  How??

I would think psychologically is is damaging as well. Were we ever even .500 this year?

What does the coaching staff do to create this?

There were a number of things that led to the NE loss and are as follows:

JC sat out PS

Tee was the focal point of the offense during TC and got hurt just before Game 1

TE fumbles on the 1 yard line

PR fumbles a punt

Rhamondre Stevens had a career game because we were weak in the interior due to injury.

Folks keep saying coaching/Zac but what is it about Coaching/Zac that leads us to poor starts?

I'm inclined it's more to do with the QB not having a complete Preseason until this year and this year being a train wreak due to the contracts.

I guess it could be Zac's fault, butt I don't see how. I CAN see it being his responsibility.

It's sorta like saying our record is "this" when we wear that. Coaching 'em up better when they wear black socks

If the season started out like this year only  now and again, then I agree with you. But every year?  Do the Pittsburgh Stool Softeners start out this way every year?  And they've had months to prepare for this one game.

I'm not debating we don't start off w/ a poor record. I just don't go w/ automatic "Because Zac".

It's not automatic "because Zac". An obvious coaching problem is an obvious coaching problem. I'm not sure why you're acting like it's not Zac when every single year it's the same thing. But maybe you're right. It's the best WR in the leagues fault for not having great games at the start of the year while being double teamed. I guess when everyone played bad at the start of the year it's not on Zac. That's not a sign of being unprepared at all.

He does not give the starting units enough reps during preseason. This is obvious as hell.

As a result, we come out out of synch on offense and soft on D. 1-11 is 1-11. ZT is so afraid of someone getting hurt in PS that we lose the first two games every year..

He's so inconsistent...him not playing may help them.

I think they use less physical practices to try to avoid injuries and then we get into Game 1 and the other team has an advantage.

We also don't play our starters much in preseason. Basically every teams plays the starters in most preseason games. We go against the grain.

I do think Burrow missing camp in years past, the holdouts, injuries factor into the equation.

I’d rather have Flacco in with a playoff spot on the line if I’m a Colts fan.

You know what, you're right.

Zac should have tried harder to get Chase ready to start the season

I've clearly stated JC is the best WR in the NFL, but thanks for verifying it. Not sure what that has to do with what I posed.

Kinda hard to give a QB who hasn't completed a PS prior to this year more reps.

I never knew Zac had a monopoly of not playing starters during PS.

I fully understood it would be an unpopular suggestion when I posed it, I just thought 1 or 2 might give it a thought

14 missed tackles and fumbles on offense and ST. He didn’t have a single facet of the team ready to go. But yeah Ja’Marr Chase.
