T. Aikman If I had a vote on MVP

Yeah that and throwing for 2 TDs with a passer rating of 135 while being Houdini in the pocket. The 81 yards on the ground didn't hurt either.

It's OK, just because Lamar is great doesn't mean Joe is not

Anyone wondering why Darnold and Goff weren't being taken seriously as MVP candidates got their answer.

They are limited QBs lifted up by good surrounding talent and/or coaching, but they're not actually elite and voters and oddsmakers know that.

For sure. They both had great seasons, but the wheels came off. Goff also had the crazy benefit of playing 15 games indoors this year.

On a side note, I posted in another thread that after this season I'm comfortable putting Burrow at the top of the QB rankings or tiers... Jayden Daniels will be coming for him very soon though.... Barring the dreaded sophomore slump.

I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself wrt Daniels. But he’s sure been VERY good so far. Everyone was ready to crown Stroud last season too though. Daniels is probably already knocking on the door for top 5. I’d certainly take him over that choke artist Justin Herbert. Tongue

And speaking of Aikman - he was great on the broadcast yesterday. He didn’t hold back at all from bashing the ridiculousness of having separate rules for just Mahomes. People have really had enough at this point.

He sure was and I was applauding for him for not being an NFL "yes man" and sugar coating it. It's as clear as a bell as the saying goes! Mahomes has his set of rules and most everybody else has another. And what makes it even worse Mahomes flops at the slightest touch to draw the flag. And he gets it - A LOT

It's total BS!

Yes I'm hesitant to anoint Daniels an upper tier QB already. He sure has a great start though.

Reaching is fun. The dude had a very good game in poor conditions.

As I've said, both Lamar and Joe can be great.

Would be kinda comical if Lamar wins his 3rd MVP and yet to make the SB.

I do think the MVP is Allen there may be a bit of voter fatigue with Lamar which is a real thing.

Of course, tonight had no bearing but Lamar had a better game. His passer rating of 114 was about 30 points higher than Allen's He also had about twice as many yards on the ground.

And 4 times as many dropped balls.

As I said: It's OK

He has 11 turnovers in 8 career playoff games. It’s OK to say Lamar has a problem in January.

Lamar’s only playoff wins have come against the corpse of Russell Wilson, Ryan Tannehill, and a rookie CJ Stroud.

It’s ok, beating Mahomes and Allen in the playoffs isnt for everyone. Big Grin

Burrow is definitely better than both Lamar and Allen.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Not saying you’re wrong, but here we are for the second straight year on the outside looking in while watching Allen and Lamar make and win at least one playoff game.

Watching Allen make the playoffs 5 straight years and win his 5th straight division title.

I know, weak division, Burrow injured, horrible drafting and development, injuries, etc, etc, etc.

Who cares if you have a top 5 qb like Burrow if you can’t even make the playoffs.

Sorry. Just needed to vent. All the happy Bills fans with hope yet again and 1 game away from the SB while Bengals fans have a bag full of excuses and no playoffs again.

He’d have as many playoff wins as he does MVP’s. LMAO

Said this in the Around the NFL thread... teams with a negative turnover differential in a game this postseason are 0-7 in those games.

Lamar actually played good in the 2nd half. Even though they took the ball out of his hand and gave it to the RB's.

but yea he loves turning it over in the playoffs. Per usual
