Scouting The Bowl Games
(01-11-2025, 06:49 PM)pulses Wrote: His mph on a previous TD this year was at 21 mph. Pretty fast but just a tad slower than Chase Brown.

I'm saying that at his peak of acceleration, he ran faster on that TD pass than I can remember seeing him run all season. Even my buddy, who is typically skeptical, texted "damn, that guy is much faster than I thought".

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Oh yeah he is definitely fast no doubt.

"Scouting" The National Championship Game a little differently. I put together a quick mock using nothing but player in the game:

RD1 EMEKA EGBUKA/WR

[Image: evc__20221231_osu__uga_b88e062b_fb32_494...381365.jpg]

Easy E is a fluid route runner who will excel in a JB offense built on timing. Overshadowed this year by the Super Frosh, but there was a time when E was the bright young star on a team with Marvin Harrison, Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson, This allows Yoshi to move outside and let EE handle the slot

RD2 XAVIER WATTS/S
[Image: xavier-watts.png]

X was the number 89th Nationally ranked prospect coming out of HS for his position. The twist is that position was WR. X has converted well to DB and will only get better. Showed his former WR skills by leading the Nation in INTs this year

RD3 QUINSHON JUDKINS/RB
[Image: usatsi_24719637.jpg]

Q is the #2 RB at OSU but I see him having a better career than Williams. He runs hard, he’s currently the Thunder in the OSU backfield and will continue that role here. Dude is 6’/220 with 4.4 speed

RD 4 SONNY STYLES/LB
[Image: 1D3A1752-Enhanced-NR-1248x703.jpg]

Sonny transitioned from Safety to LB and has done well. There’s a chance that Sonny retuins to college (and frankly should), but if he declares getting him in the 4th and bringing him along slowly would be great

RD5: HOWARD CROSS III/DL
[Image: howard-cross-iii.png]

Undersized IDL with an oversized heart. Comes from NFL genes as his father played 13 years in the league. HC3 has what I like in an interior d-lineman. Outstanding wrestling skills

RD 6 MITCHELL EVANS/TE
[Image: USATSI_19701345.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1]

I like Mitch A LOT better than many. Every time I watch him I see a star. Dude is a huge TE 6’5”/260 with great hands.

Emeka Egbuka is one of my favorite players in this draft class... too bad he likely won't be high on the draft board.

Just set the record for career receptions for tOSU. There's been some great ones come through there

OSU is dominating ND in the trenches especially against the depleted ND DL.

It looks like OSU is going to waltz to a championship

The OSU slot receiver will be outstanding in the NFL.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Egbuka fumbles going for extra yards to put the game away. Sounds like a Bengal already.

That stiff arm en route to his 3rd score of the night was a thing of beauty. I wonder if he muttered "Get off me, kid" as he drove him into the ground?

As bad as I want the trenches fixed I wouldn't be upset if we drafted Egbuka. Especially if we lose Tee.

And congrats Buckeyes, HELL of a run to title.
