Trey Hendrickson

Young wouldnt be a good replacement for Hendrickson but he would be a good replacement for Hubbard.

What makes you say that? Is Young coming to play for a bargain basement contract? Compare their stats over their careers. Young isn't better than Hubbard when Hubbard is healthy, and Hubbard still had more tackles playing injured.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

It almost doesn't matter what else they do. 3 of their 4 best players (with a big drop off after 4) are on the line this off season. You can't fix that with a draft or a free agency period.

Well we had all of them playing this season (well expect for the normal miss some games out of Higgins) and how did we do ?  My point is not these are top tier players, but these 3 players are not enough to win with, we need to invest in both lines still and that means spending $$ in FA, i don't see it very feasible we can give major contracts to all three and still spend large in FA.  Im prefer to extend Chase and Trey and move on or tag Higgins and invest more on the trenches.

We missed the playoffs by a tiebreaker after having a horrendous start where we lost multiple games by literally 1 play (and often 1 missed penalty). We were on fire and would have almost certainly won at least 1 if not multiple playoff games against an underwhelming wild card weekend slate in the AFC had we gotten in.

Imagine what we would have done without them.

I understand your point, but I think it's based on a fallacy that we cannot keep these three players AND invest in both of our lines. Joe Goodberry made a really good video where he goes over all the really easy things the Bengals can do to free up a lot of cash and cap space, re-sign all three players and still have about 90 million dollars in cap space for the 2025 team to use in free agency. You can watch it here. And it does not involve unrealistic or cheap contracts where millions of dollars are pushed into 4 void years the ways other teams create cap space at the expense of the future. And this is without restructuring Joe Burrow, which is also a lever they can pull if they want to.

Even if they front load the hell out of the contracts (or spend more than he projects entirely on the three of them) and we only end up with half that much at 45 million in cap space, that is still plenty of cap to go and get a few quality free agents. Then you have a good draft, and you're back in championship form for the next 3 to 4 years easy.

We can't fall for this team's lies. They have the money. They have the cap space. If they don't sign all three players, they will have failed the off season.
