Tee’s market price (Update: 3 March 25, Tee has been tagged again)
(02-25-2025, 02:04 PM)TheLeonardLeap Wrote: You probably said the same thing about making Carson Palmer happy the year he wanted the Bengals to sign TO rather than address the fact that his OL had Nate Livings, Kyle Cook, and Dennis Roland on it. Then we went 4-12.

Extending Chase will make Burrow happy. Extending Hendrickson will make Burrow happy. That'll have to be enough happiness for him as they then do what needs to be done to win games rather than just make him happy.

Not really sure where you are getting that it was Carson's idea to bring along TO. I've never heard or seen that anywhere, ever. And I follow this team pretty closely.

It was more than obvious, and he's said so himself, that Carson asked the FO for certain things and they never came through, even after promising it to him after he signed his deal.

There is precedent for what Burrow is going through. On more than one occassion.

But that's fine. You guys just keep letting the FO ship off our quality players. Especially when the best player this franchise has ever had continues to PUBLICLY speak out about how we need to bring our guys back (specifically Tee). I'm sure that will end well.

Me? I'd rather not test it.

I would love a say, but my guess no one in theis forum helps our FO makes decisions. I don't think the FO frequents the forum for expert advice.  Smirk

there is no "precedent..nor does anyone know of the intimate conversations that took place between carson Palmer and the brown family..I guarantee you that if higgins is traded Burrow will be out there giving it 110%

The bigger picture with all of this is to keep Burrow happy. That begins with signing Tee and ends with signing Hendrickson and Jamar.

Keeping Joe happy should be priority 1A for this organization right now. It's pretty clear what Joe wants, and it's also pretty clear that there's a bit of frustation/unhappiness creeping in when it comes to Joe and his relationship with this organization. You think he likes missing the playoffs (again) and seeing a guy like Hurst (same draft class) winning a Super Bowl this year all while the organization he plays for continues to let good players walk?

You sign Tee because yes, he's good and can help your team, but more importantly because it keeps Joe happy.

The big picture is to put a great roster together, defense, offense and special teams. If they Chase long term, that guarantees Joe has a top WR to throw the rock the next 4 to 6 years depending on length of his contract. Joe understands to win it all, all phases need to be upgraded. Ues, he wants Tee, he want Gesicki too. But in the end, I think he wants a complete team accomplish what Chiefs and Eagles have done past few years.

They may sign and keeo Tee. They may tag and trag him for more draft picks (weapons are a lot cheaper with draftees than vets). They won't just let Tee enter FA. If they did, it woulld be the biggest blunder maybe ever for this franchise and they have many others.

In the Joe wants to win championships, he will adapt if Tee is no longer here. He is not a 5 year old who would whine and cry with losing him.

Yep. Then at that point you better reaaaally hope the Bengals make the playoffs. You think Joe was frustrated this year? We miss the playoffs again after we don't bring back the one guy he was adamant about wanting to bring back and Im not sure it'll be super pretty.

I think you guys are drastically underselling Joe's competitiveness and his desire to win.

There could be a multitde of reasons we don't make the playoffs inclluding injury to our star QB. But for different reasons, I do believe the pressure is on to win because we have JB. ZT in my opinion is on thin ice in 2025.

Yeah, just wish Joe was also being adamant about bringing in some Guard help in FA. Haven't heard this, been all about his weapons on Offense
and Trey on Defense. But I guess this also goes without mentioning that the IOL needs to be upgraded big time.

Completely agree, cannot start out in a hole once again in 2025 and cost us a shot at the Playoffs. Zac will be gone if this happens sure of it.

I don't see Joe ever throwing his OL under the bus and campaigning for guards would do so. I think this may be a conversation Joe has in private with the FO.

Smart. Like I said, it goes without saying and Joe is being classy to his Guards. Obviously, he is going to publicly want his boys back in
Tee, Mike G along with the extensions of Ja'Marr and Trey. I also think he would be fine with it if we had a great offer for Tee to really
improve the team by adding Guards and he would be for it as it would also be in Tee's best interest.

Duke didn't hedge. He didn't add a caveat. He wants a deal done for the "big 3" before free agency

Nope. He just wants to be surrounded by his friends Frank said.

nobody is drastically underselling Burrows competitiveness..but if you are suggesting that he is gonna act like a petulant 8 year old and not play well if Higgins is not signed..thats absurd..all this talk about tee higgins is getting old..the bengals have so many holes to fill and if they end up paying an often injured number 2 receiver 20 plus  million dollars..again ..we gonna be right back at .500 next year
