Happy Tampering Day
We are in talks to bring Ossai back.

https://www.cincyjungle.com/2025/3/10/24382632/joseph-ossai-cincinnati-bengals-rumors-nfl-free-agency

Trey + high pick + Ossai, Murphy, & C. Johnson is something I can live with at DE.

Waive Moss, get Tee done. Restructure Joe. Use that FA $$$ on 2 guards.

If we sign Tee, we recoup a lot of cap money anywhere between 10 to 15 million so spend on a guard.

I like Becton, some like Fries, but I like anyone not naed Cappa. RG was 64th ranked or worst starting guard in th NFL or close to it.

Love it. Ossai being back really helps as we have a proven pass rusher when he is healthy, better than anyone else we got so far.

Becton is gone Luvnit. Fries, James Daniels, Tevin Jenkins, Herndandez, Pryor, Zeit, Scherff I believe are all still available. Get it done.

Sick

Ossai isn’t a proven pass rusher. No one remembers how he’s been a Bengal for past 3-4 years? Hasn’t done anything. This status quo of bringing all the boys back is a complete failure.
Given the bengals track record, and how we’ve screwed up Tee, Trey and Chase lack their of deals, it’s panic time.

He is a more proven pass rusher than a rookie and WAS our second best pass rusher last year just like I said.

It is panic time for you, because you are a chicken little.

People on this board can never have a conversation. Always results in some attack or name calling. I’m not even mad about being called a chicken little, I guess it’s kind of funny.

I think any fans panicking is well backed by data, however I would say I shouldn’t be panicking because this is basically how I expected the off season to go. The off season didn’t start today, by the way. So far- it’s been a complete disaster. So far, Would you agree?

Someone needs to tell him dont be greedy.  You can be tagged twice just like Tee or even 3 times and make far less money.   You deserve to be paid but be reasonable in your negotiations.

He was good as a rookie. Disappeared for 2 years. Showed some promise in a contract year.

I think we have to keep him with Hendrickson situation. We really need 3 DEs.

Starters atm:

O: Burrow; C. Brown; Chase, Higgins, Iosivas; D. Sample; O. Brown, Volson, Karras, Ford, Mims.

Both G spots are problematic. Sample less so. Yoshi is OK with Gesicki back as the real WR3.

D: Hendrickson, BJ Hill, Slaton, Murphy; L. Wilson, Pratt; CTB, Turner, D. Hill; Battle, Stone.

Murphy is problematic. Upgrades at S, LB2, and CB1 would be welcome. As would a situational DT pass rusher.

ST: McPherson, Rehkow, Adomitis.

Money Mac is shaky.

We have Trey under a team friendly contract, Tee under a team friendly contract, Jamar under a team friendly deal.

Who did we lose in off season other than players we cut for poor perfromance?

When have Bengals cut 2 high end starters (Rankins and Cappa) and forced one to retire to create over 30 million in cap space?

Get back to me in July, day one of tampering is not the time to determne success or failure of the off season. I like what the FO is doing and I have a hunch they are far from being done.

Ossai had 5 sacks in the last 7 games, IIRC. And improved in run defense.

That's pretty solid. More productive than Murphy.

Money Mac was injured in 2024 and had a new holder as Robbins was replaced. There were snap issues and yes Mac had some misses. But he still can keep 55 yard field goals. I have all the confidence in the world he has a great 2025. Now for different reasons if a Ravens fan, I would say they need a new kicker.

We can have a conversation as long as you are not in panic mode like you said. Full of emotion, I was just messing with you Ell Prez.

But you act like you didn't watch Ossai late last season when he was our second best pass rusher and said he isn't proven. If we don't
bring back Ossai we better bring in an End so we don't have to rely on an unproven rookie opposite of Trey. Murphy last year did not
improve and while I have not given up on him yet he is not proven, I like Cedric Johnson's motor but he is not proven, Cam Sample is
coming off of injury etc.

On the contract talks, has it been a disaster? I guess so, but I blame the FO more for not getting Ja'Marr's deal done before last season
more than anything and then saying they would get this done before now rather than calling the entire offseason a complete disaster.

Get back to me when these guys are not back or are unhappy.

Saw Mekhi was signed way back in this thread. I guess I could go back and look for it...

Nope, it was Mekari. Becton is still out there I think, good news. Get him.
