Happy Tampering Day

G in the draft in Rd 2 or 3 and have time to coach the kid up.

This but I say let the board dictate. If the right one is there draft him in rd 2 or 3. But if not focus on defense and get a guy in the later rounds.

I am not saying all 3 of our guys do not deserve to paid extremely well, but to do that we sure can't pay extra 3 or 4 million a year to a good OG.

You are spot on. Maybe Bengals kicked the tires on them both and learned their ask was not in our ball park.
Fries was offered 3 and 50 from Seattle and turned it down before going to Minnesota. I read we're interested in Jenkins they better be prepared to offer 15/yr or so or they're not gonna get him.

I thought we might sign him.

If a Hendrickson trade materialized, it’s possible.

Just bring in Calais Campbell. He can play anywhere, he will get 5 sacks. He brings a leadership presence that this team, especially defense, desperately needs.

Definitely agree. Wanted Fries but he was overpaid.

Teven Jenkins:

Career his Pass Block rating (PFF) is constantly right around 70 and last year 75.8. And this was with the roller coaster Caleb Williams rookie campaign back there and the prior three years the Justin Fields (Zero pocket awareness or presence) show. Run blocking he also hovers close to 70 and last year hit 74.3. Drafted in 2021 so has not hit his ceiling yet and the only real rap is misses games here and there due to injuries. The REAL question is will the Bengals actually seal the seal. Logically they should to have a younger building block back there and then possibly sign Big Z also as a stopgap while a draft pick is coached up.

True, but also would love to add both.

Exactly, they prioritize WR over Guard with their own words and also with their silence.

Agree with you. I think we have had enough time to see that the Bengals did the right move in letting Trey test FA and seeing that
even being the NFL sack leader doesn't get you insane money. Trey will be back now that his agent and him have come back to reality.

Seriously, I think Trey has a dumb agent. Last year they requested an extension when it wasn't even possible ON Draft Day.

Guess our FO decided to take the day off today.

Hopefully they were working behind the scenes to get stuff done.

80 72 and 76 over the last 3 years doesn't equate to around 70 but yes he should be signed but it's gonna cost 15/yr or so to get him. He can play both guard spots but I'd leave him at LG and sign/draft a RG or both.

Not gonna be anything close to 10.....Aaron Banks is worse than Jenkins and he got like 4 and 77

Just think if we had Tee, Trey, and Chase locked up and Joe restructured, we'd have more cap space AND be a more desireable FA destination.

Joe doesn't need to restructure for the 5000000th time. The FO just needs to change how they do business and contracts.

There is no realm where Jenkins is better than Banks.

Every FA ranking site I have seen has Jenkins rated considerably higher (ESPN, NFL COM, PFF). Jenkins' PFF grades are better. And Banks blew out his knee late in the year.

You have it precisely backwards, IMHO.
