I could tell you he isn't hurt, but then I would be lying to you. He pulled his groin while warming up on the mound for the 4th.

Ugh. I guess the bright side is it isn't arm or shoulder related. Still an absolute bummer with the season he's having thus far. I wonder who gets a call up if he misses time?

Probably nobody as long as it's not a long term injury.

They have 4 more games before they have an off day. So theoretically they don't need a 5th starter until the 17th without even having to do a bullpen day or anything. IF they do a bullpen day on the 17th, they then have 4 more games before they have another off day.

So they can get to the 17th with no bullpen day and the 4 starters sticking to normal rest schedule.
OR
They can get to the 27th with 1 bullpen day and the 4 starters sticking to normal rest schedule.

Rhett Lowder would be the logical choice to fill in, but he just started his rehab assignment yesterday.

Taylor Rogers' 1.50 ERA is hella misleading. He's allowed 6/7 inherited runners score. The rest of the team combined is at 7/36.

I hope Hunter is okay. He's among the best pitchers in the entire league.

Sadly he's just too fragile.

Reds drafted him in 2017, and between 2018-2024 (minus 2020 because the minors were shut down)... he pitched just 583.2 innings in 6 years. Or ~97.1 IP per year. Last year was his healthiest year ever and he was 71st in innings pitched. Much like Lodolo, it doesn't matter how good your stuff is if you can't stay healthy.

What is it with this team and hitting with runners in scoring position? Doesn’t anyone know how to cut down on their swing and make contact? Sad

I don’t think there is one Red on this team that can hit a slider or a curve ball. If I was the opposition, I would not throw a fastball for a strike, to the Reds and throw slider on outside of the plate all day long. The Reds have been pitched like that all year and no one can make an adjustment, to make contact in a critical situation.

That is clear cut obstruction. Umps need to grow some balls and call that.

This team is a fricking mess. Base running blunders, can’t make contact, in critical situations. I thought Francona came here to get the Reds back to basics. They are no better off than last year. How many runners in scoring position and you can’t get them in. Twice a runner on 2nd and no outs and can’t get them in.

Same mistakes, and lack of execution.

When does NFL start, I’m ready to move on.

I hate them. Goodnight.

Edit: Timnaky, it’s the same shit with the football season. Impossibly creative ways to **** everything up.

Marte imjured.   Hunter Greene injured.  I hate to hear that.  Add in Hays injured.  With Marte out, this could be a good time for Candelario to try to earn his pay, but he is on IL also.  Reds have a MASH Unit of injuries.

Reds had Ty France and last I saw he was putting up good numbers for team he is on, as he usually does.  I hope Reds got something for him.

At Atlanta is rough, but at Houston this weekend is also rough.  This is a Killer Road Trip.
