I repeat that is wishful thinking. I want Bengals to win, but it would be a lie if I said Mike Brown and front office have everything under control and contract problems are over, and everybody will be in camp and preseason getting ready for a Super Bowl run. That would be a lie for me to say that. As much as I want Bengals to win, Mike Brown and front office need to get with it before camp starts this month. Super Bowl runs begin the first day of camp. They need to get this contract garbage over with and have a camp focusing on winning games only. Winning first game of regular season instead of losing in September and then trying to play catch up. It would be a lie for me to say everything is fine and Hendrickson and the #1 pick are both definitely playing for Bengals. As of now they are not playing this season, and Mike Brown and Family will lose again this season if they don't solve this so team can focus on practice and training and not contracts. It's just wishful thinking and denial to say everything is fine with Hendrickson and top pick and they are playing. Bengals front office is now into July and they really need to get with it now, or else they will start the season losing as usual.
The bengals are just trying to do what the teams before and after the Stewart pick did for their incoming rookies. Put another way, if Stewart was picked one spot ahead or one spot after, he would have signed the deal. The bengals are not trying to do anything different than the rest of the league does. Just something different than the bengals have done in the past. It’s as if they woke up and said, hmm our old way of doing business was not mutually beneficial, but now we want that true partnership, like others have. You can’t really fault the FO for that. ESPECIALLY, after the Burton drama last year.

See how silly that argument is?
Not a valid comparison in consideration of the many changes that have taken place on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason..specific to the offense..one could also say that if burrow gets injured again or his injuries linger this is a .500 ballclub

Not a single game has been played this year. Nobody knows how good or bad the team without Burrow would be.

Agreed..but this is not the time of the year for anyserious discussion about performance on either side of the ball..We will have moredefinitive answers around October.I hope its a great year..Rain has stopped..time for golf and some delicious Strawberry Boones Farm

Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Did you watch any games last year? Because the team is virtually the exact same. Possibly worse if Chase and burrow don’t play and peak level again. Especially Chase. Hard to repeat the triple crown.

^ Is a legit point.
The team is relatively the same.
All chips are on the coaching change. Looking at what the rest of the division did in FA and the draft, it's hard to see how the Bengals closed the gap if only looking at FA and the draft. An influx of talent in all other teams in the division outside of the Bengals.
Bengals were 2nd to last place in the division and approached FA and the draft like they were 1st place. Ravens and Steelers approached FA and the draft like they were in last place.
From a talent standpoint, if you compare the rosters, Bengals really no longer compare talent wise (with the exception of Chase). Not like they used to anyway when Bengals were clearly one of the most talented teams in the league if not the division.

I agree the Steelers are more talented team on defense but not even close on offense to the Bengals and their offseason and draft this year has been a bit of a cluster. You sign DK then trade Pickens, you trade for Ramsey yet let Fitzpatrick go. You let Wilson and Fields go pass on a QB till 6th round and then sign a less productive player and older QB in Rogers.... Finally they struggled on their Oline last year, yet they did not draft or i believe sign any Oline free agent. i do give them credit on adding Smith at Tight end but their offense is not better than the Bengals...

Rogers numbers with the JETS wasn't as bad as made out to be last year. Not Rogers of old, but definitely an upgrade. They had a good Oline draft in 2024 but the injury bug hit.

Still the Bengals offense is better than Steelers overall below is a comparison with how i see the matchup of the offenses
Bengals have clear edge at QB, WR1, WR2, LT,
Bengals have slight edge at RT and RB
Steelers have clear edge at C and RG
Steelers have slight edge at TE, LG
WR3 seems a wash to me.

Bengals defensive rookies were paying much better the last third of the season...bengals hired a new defensive coach and acquired numerous defensive players through the draft and FA..maybe just not the players you wanted..lets have this discussion in October

Regardless of the competition..bengals played much better the last third of the season and almost made the playoffs...the hired both a new defensive coordinator..a new OL line coach..and acquired numerous defensive and OL linemen through the draft and FA...just not maybe the players you wanted.

Coaching and significant jumps in 2nd and 3rd year players... That's what they are banking on.
