Man, we need preseason games to start so many petty responses right now.

Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

OL still looks really bad to me in a lot of these clips.

Good news for Shemur, not good news for OL trying to block him

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Mims blocking Shemar as Browning was in.

And Karras was on the sideline when he blocked Joe's pass.

That means he's not coming in thinking he knows it all and will listen to his coaches and peers. He also said he likes his agent, who he called a pit bull, because he doesn't want to deal with negotiations and wanted someone who would fight for hiim. Yeah, I still think he made a bad decision with this guy, but that's his call.

Good to hear, I haven't watched Shemar's interview yet. Just saw him working out at camp in a few vids. He is big and fast, crazy talent.

You telling me he’s better than Denzel ward? Obviously he’s a little past his prime right now. Height isn’t everything. Don’t cherry pick players.

Come on man. You said D J is too short. Do the homework. A lot of good corners 5.11 and the guy you said we should have signed,Murphy. Never said a word that he was as good as Ward

well on the clip that was posted, it was a bit of a misdirection to try to get him to slide down and hit the RB out of backfield, tackled pulled inside but he did not take the bait, so nice read by him.

I will counter the "good is yards and TDs" (which they are, but not to the extent that you can ignore all the other factors surrounding the yards and TDs that can tell you that they weren't good) with the 2019 Bengals.....

AJ Green missed the whole year.
John Ross missed half the year.
Tyler Boyd was the #1 WR.

That left Auden Tate and Alex Erickson at #2 and #3 on the depth chart for most of the season in Zac Taylor's first season here. Zac Taylor coming here is important because Dalton tied his career high in pass attempts in 2019, but did it in 3 less games (he averaged 40.6 pass attempts per game). So typical Zac they were slinging the ball.

So our 4th and 5th WRs were pushed into 2nd and 3rd WR duties in an extremely pass heavy offense... the result? 575 yards in 647 offensive snaps for Tate and 529 yards in 615 offensive snaps for Erickson. They did it with terrible efficiency. And that's from 32-year-old Andy Dalton with Tyler Boyd as the #1 rather than 28-year-old Joe Burrow with Ja'Marr Chase as the #1.

I don't think anyone is going to argue that Tate and Erickson were good WRs. They were bad WRs who were put in a situation where they got a lot of playing time in a pass heavy offense.

I get what you are saying, but I don't feel Iosivas is in the same consideration as Auden Tate/Alex Erickson in 2019.
In 2024, the Bengals did not have their #1 WR miss the entire year nor their #2 WR miss even half the year.
Chase played the entire year.
Higgins played 12 games.
Gesicki (the team's real 3rd option) played the entire year.

So Iosivas was only ever 3rd on the pecking order at best.

Look, I'm not trying to sit here and say Iosivas is worthy of being starting 2nd option in an offense.
I'm not even saying great in the slot role.
What I am saying is I think he's ok (not good) and his skill set may be better used outside rather than as a slot receiver. I thought they mainly just put him inside because he happened to be the 3rd best option they had and they needed a slot to replace Boyd, so he got selected for that.
All I was getting at with the lower YPR for slot receivers is how they are used typically leads to fewer yards compared to their outside WR counterparts, especially if they are 3rd/4th in the pecking order.

I'm willing to give Iosivas this 3rd season (typically when guys usually show they can hack it or not) before looking to replace him on the roster.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I always get the yips in camp when the DL or OL plays well. If the OL plays well, I think it is because the DL stinks. If the DL plays well, I think it is because the OL stinks.

I know that is circular reasoning that makes no sense, but I just have PTSD on our line play. The effect is stronger with IOL/DT.

More specifically, I think Karras and the starting OTs are legit. I think Patrick is a fringe starter quality G who is oft injured. And Ford is not starter quality, at G or OT, though he is a fine utility lineman. I hope Fairchild hits, but is a rookie.

Beyond those 6, we have zero proven guys. I'd feel much better with a vet OT. I'd have brought Trent Brown back, or a similar type guy. $1.7 mil cap hit with Houston. I'd have cut Volson.

Rivers needs to be able to play.

Could someone in upper management update the Bengals 2025 schedule in the right panel, please?
