I guess if you're looking for the last game Andy put the team on his shoulders and carried to a win I'd suggest the 2016 win over the Eagles? 332 yards, 2 TDs, QBR of 96.9, no AJ Green, anemic rushing game (Jeremy Hill rushed for 33 yards on 24 carries lol).
I'd personally probably give Andy credit for the Baltimore win to knock them out of the playoffs in 2017, but I think a lot of people will point to his lack of yardage (only 222 yards). I was surprised at the low yardage because my memory of that game was Andy being pretty great (and Boyd was basically still a nobody at that point).
I'm not sure Andy's even in a position where you can ever point to him as carrying his team to victory... with the weapons he has even if he threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs people would just give all the credit to Green, Boyd, Eifert, etc anyways. There are some QBs that you can watch lead their teams to victory knowing they don't have much around them (Brady, Rogers), and while Dalton's nowhere near those two he also has a lot more talent at the skill positions around him IMO.

My question is...
At this point in his career can Andy Dalton carry
The offense for a game or 2 if the situation
Called upon it?
Can the Bengals win a game on Andy's arm
And command of the offense.?
I know in the past he's done that.
I can't recall the game.
But can AD just totally take over a Game
At this stage in his career?
I believe he can, predicting we see him do this a few times this year and hopefully in the Playoffs.
Damn would I like to see him get that Playoff monkey off his back and play great.

I'm not going to trash Andy and never have, but my one criticism of him has been the same for years, batted balls at the line of scrimmage, it cost us a pick 6 this preseason already. If he ever cleans up this part of his game, he is good enough to lead this team deep into the playoffs, (barring injury of course). All QB's have balls batted down from time to time, but seems Andy is good for one or two a game and some have really been killers. See: J.J. Watt.
Well said, sometimes the quick release gets too predictable and costs us cause the D-lineman can time his jump.
The O-line is critical at these times too cause lets say the O-lineman hit Watt in the chest and knocked him down.
Those plays wouldn't happen.
Also Dalton used to panic when plays broke down, but this was before Van Pelt.
Dalton was much better last year when plays broke down, I credit Van Pelt for this.

I think we will see come week one when we have no real threat of a wide receiver and have glassman eifert returning and an offensive line that will have to be disguised every week by ZT to hide their inaccuracies as a complete NFL line, or a non existent linebacking core and maybe one decent cover man. To me, Andy will have to be the man until all of these problems have been addressed. IMO of course!

Marv refused to play
the young and lowly drafted
Doelegala...now
Or limerick style...
There once was a QB named Andy
who provided QB play somewhat dandy
He said with a fright "Tis the Steelers tonight"!?
"I'll throw and interception and then break my handy!"

Andy once would've been MVP,
But got bit by a bad injury.
Don't mention it's true
They won't believe you
Cuz they'd rather just move on from Andy.
"It's easy, you see,
To replace a good QB.
The rooks they all look so fantastic!"
We'll dream of Mahommes
Get chills to the bone
And end up with Johnny Football playing spastic.
"Who knew this could be?
What a waste of money!"
They'll scream from each corner of town.
"I thought it would work
But I feel like a jerk
Because I left our high pick to Mike Brown".

We are Bengals fans, two championships should have we
In 2005 and 2015, were it not injury to QB (who maybe coulda been MVP)
QB 1 was a jerk, so when he left it didn't hurt
But we may need to ditch QB 2 to make it all work
But optimism is the name of the Bengal's fan game
For what is life without hope?
To think the Bengals can win the SB every year is nothing obscene
But to think we could ever find a better QB than Dalton makes you a dope

2015 against defending NFC Champion Seahawks. Dalton accounted for 55 of our 79 plays that game (sacks, runs, pass attempts) and all 3 of our tds (2 pass, 1 rush). He had 331 passing yards an a 96 passer rating against the Legion of Boom despite being sacked 4 times. But MOST important is what he did when the Bengals took the field with a minute gone in the fourth quarter down by 17 points against the number one scoring defense in the league. He lead 4 scoring drives by going 13-16 for 135 yards and 1 td passing and ran the ball 4 times scoring another td. Bengals score 20 straight points and win in overtime 27-24.

Never called them a dope
It's ok to hope
But there's one thing they all just don't see.
The same people who hate
Mike Brown and his mates
All trust him to nail that draftee.
It could happen, sure,
It's happened before
But he also chose Kling & Akili.
If desperate, fine
I'd say it was time
But for now I say stick with AD.
There's too many holes
To make Super Bowls
Let's start with a stud young LB.

Rep for rhyming "holes" with "Super Bowls".
Now, if anyone could rhyme something with orange. Door hinge doesn't count.

We had a chance to draft a stud LB
but over us the Steeler did leap
We said with a frown, we don't need him 'round
We've got an instantly-hurt LT!
(and yes, I realize as long as Mike Brown is alive we're never going to draft a QB who can win a SB)
