I had a good chuckle, when I stumbled across that old magazine ad, it got me to feeling a little nostalgic. I think that the first time I saw that, I was about 9 years old, at my grandma's house. I was in my father's boyhood bedroom, rummaging through his old things, naturally the comic books and magazines were very appealing, as they were so different from what I was used to seeing in the mid-late 70's. It seemed like the "dynamic tension" and "x-ray glasses" were the staple ads for targeting young men to separate them from their hard earned money, in the 1950's. I always wanted one of these!

I had a fish tank when I got out of the military and He gave me brine shrimp to feed them in the tank. I said, “Dad, those look like sea horses.” He chuckled with his marine corp grin and Red Foureman face, and the education began. He passed soon after. I thank you for mentioning this because it brought back a great memory of a not perfect, but pretty awesome father.

When I'm working on a project, I still hear my dad's voice in my head saying, "That's a pretty crappy way to do that don't you think?" Or, "That's no way to build that." LOL!. I appreciate that voice!

For some reason, he was always the home plate ump. When I batted, every pitch was a strike. Stee-rike. Oh come on. Get the bat off your shoulder. It was over my head. Barely...
