I had a good chuckle, when I stumbled across that old magazine ad, it got me to feeling a little nostalgic.  I think that the first time I saw that, I was about 9 years old, at my grandma's house.  I was in my father's boyhood bedroom, rummaging through his old things, naturally the comic books and magazines were very appealing, as they were so different from what I was used to seeing in the mid-late 70's.

It seemed like the "dynamic tension" and "x-ray glasses" were the staple ads for targeting young men to separate them from their hard earned money, in the 1950's.

I own a bowl full of happiness. It only cost me $25 for an eighth of herbal happiness.

It turns out that Sea Monkeys are a breed of brine shrimp (a.k.a. whale food). I wonder how much money the dude made off of inventing and marketing these things?

Without stuff like this, my Room of Chia Pets would never have been possible.

My dad told me this about 30yrs ago. I had a fish tank when I got out of the military and He gave me brine shrimp to feed them in the tank. I said, “Dad, those look like sea horses.” He chuckled with his marine corp grin and Red Foureman face, and the education began. He passed soon after. I thank you for mentioning this because it brought back a great memory of a not perfect, but pretty awesome father.

When I'm working on a project, I still hear my dad's voice in my head saying, "That's a pretty crappy way to do that don't you think?" Or, "That's no way to build that."

LOL!. I appreciate that voice! ThumbsUp

He would say it in a tone that was sort of playful and joking... but, as I recall, he was also right!

If I was really doing a lousy job of putting something together, he would say, "Here... let me see that a minute."

My old man would ump my baseball games.  For some reason, he was always the home plate ump.  When I batted, every pitch was a strike.

Stee-rike.

Oh come on.

Get the bat off your shoulder.

It was over my head.

Barely...
