We had a sweet spot there for a few years, in regards to solid contributors/role players.
MJ is the only above average player on this list.
Andre Caldwell was pretty terrible. Guy played in the league for 8 years and finished with 1,509 yards and 4 TD's. He averaged 15 yards per game played (105)
Pat Sims was essentially a career backup. In 8 years he was a full time starter only once.
Shipley was about average for a 3rd round rookie. He got immediate playing time because outside of Chad and TO we had Jerome Simpson, who at the point had 1 career reception and was a huge bust, and previously mentioned bum that was Andre Caldwell. But because he was a small white guy his 600 yards became worth about 1,000 yards in the eyes of fans, and his value was inflated. Not a terrible pick, but we got a big problem if we're holding Jordan Shipley as a success story in the 3rd round.
Frostee Rucker, see Pat Sims. Decent player but spent a lot of time as a depth piece. There's nothing wrong with this but this doesn't strike me as an example of a success story either in regards to getting great value for the pick. I'd say this is about average for that draft position.
No offense, but this is a rather unimpressive "sweet spot".
