So far its not been his best 7 games but he has been a real productive, sometimes excellent safety for the 3 years previous. I like the guy.
I would be MUCH more worried if he had 3 bad seasons then in 7 games in a contract year was suddenly great.
He is a proven quality player , still very young and has played 16 games every year to date...if you do not extend a Bates who do you extend?
