Difference between 2015 team and 2021 team?

Whit was a 34 yr. old OT who had never hit free agency b/c he always signed extensions while still under contract. The Bengals made a "business" decision letting him hit free agency where somebody made a bigger offer. The team can't expect a player to play out his contract and then expect that same player to forget that free agency is a thing.
I don't care what a player says to the front office so long as they keep it out of the locker room. I'm not going to point fingers at players when it happens b/c I know that the front office meddles with the locker room because of management politics ALL THE TIME.
