Do you really think he needs the reps, (he's doing plenty of catching on his own) or is it more beneficial to let guys like Burton and Yoshi have more time with Burrow throwing to them. If Chase wants to give up some of the training camp reps, that can be more of an advantage than a disadvantage due to Chase already being an elite receiver. If he gets hurt, we will be glad Burton and the rest got the extra time.
It costs the team more than you might be willing to acknowledge. With two years left under contract, he needs to be setting the example for those younger receivers on the field. Getting back on the same page with the offense early, like a leader should.
As far as I'm concerned, this trend of the "hold in" is a bunch of shit and sets a bad example for up and coming players, as well as makes a poor representation of what it means to be one of the best at what you do for all of the great players before him. Pouting and demanding a new deal with two seasons left on the clock is like going to dinner and asking for dessert up front.
How would that scenario fare in the real world? "Hey boss, I know that I'm not due for a raise review for quite some time, but I want it now. Until I get it, I'll just be showing up and speak encouragingly to my potential replacements.."
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations
