28 vs. 29 might seem like no big deal, but the way teams handle third contracts and player age, it's not insignificant.
I don't see any WRs next year getting more money than Jefferson, CeeDee, Hill, got this off-season, so the market is pretty much set. There isn't anyone that's going to increase the market, so he wants his deal ASAP because that means he can get to his 3rd contract sooner.
Wouldn’t a new contract just be an extension to the two he has left?
Unless of course that is what’s holding the extension up, Chase wants a 3 year extension and the Bengals want to extend him 4. I don’t know how old Chase is so I don’t know.
