More realistic shallower dive of "what have you done lately" last 2 years
Brown: 198 receptions / 2,952 yards / 18 TD ... 2x Pro Bowl / 2x 2nd Team All-Pro / 11th place OPOY finish / 9th place MVP finish
Chase: 187 receptions / 2,262 yards / 16 TD ... 2x Pro Bowl
Kupp: 134 receptions / 1,549 yards / 11 TD
Players aren't getting paid for what they did 3 years ago if what they've done the last 2 years are a completely different story. Otherwise there'd be people saying Cooper Kupp needs to be given more money than Chase and Jefferson.
Brown got out from under Tannehill (who is currently no longer in the league) and beat Chase's career high in two straight years. Now do I think that Brown's ceiling is better than Chase's? No, I don't. Doesn't change the fact that if he wants to be paid like Jefferson (or better) Chase needs to stop being about knowing his potential and more about actually SHOWING that high ceiling.
Not even comparable with Kupp. He signed his deal at age 28 and had only 2 1000 yard seasons at that point. In fact, he still only has two 1k seasons in his career. Way different than guys in their primes
