If that's what you read from reading that the guy got $43.3m and a ton of guaranteed money added to the next 4 years than his contract would have normally paid him out over that time, then sure.

Company: "We'll pay you $10/day for 10 days."

Employee: "Give me $15/day for the next 4 days and when those 4 days are up, we'll re-negotiate again, because I am certainly not going to only get $5/day for the final 4 days."
