Here is my thing, you can get your contract two years early OR you can be the highest paid player at your position you can't have it both ways. There has to be some sort of trade off from both sides. If the Bengals are willing to put money in your pocket two years before they have to you have to be willing to take a number that is fair but not resetting the market.
This feels like bad advice from his agent in all honesty. As a team, the Bengals really shouldn't set precedent for this as the Cowboys had a few years ago with Elliott and Parsons is trying to leverage that in Dallas to also get a new deal 3 years in.
