We're building out the reserves / future starters on OL nicely. My only real concern is if McKinney Jackson starts the season on PUP or IR then we are a bit thin at DT. I suppose in that instance Tufele fills in as the other three spots are locked.
This makes the most sense, as Tufele has been with the Bengals since 2022.
He knows the defense that Anarumo runs.
Hill and Rankins get the start with Jenkins, Carter, and Tufele backing them up and in the rotation.
This might be Carter's last season to try to make a name for himself on the team.
Across 33 games and 896 defensive snaps, he has only 5 total pressures, per pro-football-reference.com
Although PFF has given him credit for more hurries (15) and 17 total pressures.
Regardless though, that's very low for that many snaps.
His forte was supposed to be penetration, as shown from his 17.5 sacks and 26.0 TFLs in 3 years in college.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
