I would love to watch him play but there's a small part of me that would also love to see the organization make him stick to his current contract or sit out the next 2 years. His career would basically be done, at least a good part of his prime career would be.
This happens all the time in professional sports, especially the NFL. He’s not greedy. He’s worth what he’s asking. Just because “hes made millions”, doesn’t mean he isn’t worth 20x that. If he was a free agent, he would have multiple suitors and probably the highest paid non QB in the league. Does it suck for us fans? Sure does. But I hold nothing against him. Technically he has 2 years left but that’s his rookie contract. Not like he was going to just not play in the nfl because he didn’t like the terms. CBA slots these guys to their contracts based on draft order. Chase has proven he’s an elite nfl player and plays a position that simply gets paid. He’s probably a year early, but who am I to say he shouldn’t hold out for a guaranteed contract. I don’t wish him ill. I don’t wish the bengals ill. They’re both going to do what’s best for them now and long term.
I also didn’t have ill well against Carson when he refused to play. So at least I’m consistent lol
