Giving in to Chase I think leads to a degradation of the CBA.
Bailing out of contracts whenever you feel like it is terrible for the league and should be open to lawsuit for breach of contract just like anyone else.
Imagine if you bought Bengals tickets but then the team cancelled the game because they thought the ticket price was too low. Would you just pay more because they wanted more than the agreed upon price?
