If you think the Chiefs DID look good vs the Ravens and that the Benglas were pretty bad vs the Pats, then hope exists for the Bengals to be a good team as the bar to become good isnt unreachable.
If you think the Chiefs did NOT look good vs the Ravens and that the Benglas were much worse vs the Pats, then we are screwed this season. KC wasnt even good? And we were levels below them? That mountain is likely too high to reach "good" status.
If you think the Chiefs did NOT look good vs the Ravens and that the Benglas were NOT THAT BAD vs the Pats, then your homerism is elite and you deserve all of the gold star stickers. Bless your little heart.
I think KC looked good, not great, but good vs the #1 defense from last season, as well as vs Lamar & Henry and a solid Ravens roster. Thus I see the "good" level and it is reachable.
My thoughts are related more to the term "look." Winning and looking good is great. Winning and NOT looking good is just as great. It is very difficult to "look" good vs the Ravens.
We lost because Burrow seemed hesitant, couldn't establish first down runs, and could not stop the run. Aside from Stevens dropping 120 yards on us, it was the Brissett's runs out of pocket to extend early drives. Those were the back breakers.
I feel that this was a game where the Bengals thought our D would hold them to 10 points or less. The body language of our guys after going three and out on the first two drives, gave me the impression that we thought we are going to get them sooner or later.
There is so much to analyze and opine as to what went wrong and what needs to be addressed on offense moving forward, that a dissertation on philosophy and QB utilization can be written.
At this point in the season, unfortunately; changing philosophy and play book is not realistic. The personnel we have is the personnel we have. The issue last Sunday was EXECUTION on offense, which left our D exposed and on the field for far too long - even before their run game got established.
