As for the Super Bowl, the challenge is not airport location (still less than 30 minutes to downtown) or the number of hotel rooms it is the lack of LUXURY hotel rooms. The additional 600 or so rooms from the new convention center hotel will help but realistically to host a Supor Bowl, Cincinnati's downtown would need another 600 or so high-end rooms on top of that to host. That means hotels like Ritz Carlton, W, JW Marriott, Conrad, Four Seasons, Intercontinental. The problem is that Cincinnati doesn't have the daily business to support that many more rooms in the market.
it makes no sense to spend an extra billion..and these big "facilities "are not rented out year wide as you may think,,as for the superbowl. it is expensive..it is a destination and a dome would not guarantee cincinnati a superbowl...gray skies, freezing weather and slushy sidewalks..no thank you
