I've noticed the Bengals go for high-ceiling guys but maybe who need more refinement to get there.
Zach Carter, Jermaine Burton, Andrei Iosivas, Joseph Ossai just to name a few.
Each of these guys had some amazing, albeit inconsistent tape in college.
It might ultimately come down to the coaches thinking they could refine these guys when in reality they haven't really gotten too much out of them (at least yet).
Either these dudes haven't shown ability to improve in their areas of weakness enough and/or the coaching effort or techniques just haven't been resonating well.
Some of it is drafting combine numbers over production. But, then in another thread it was noted that we draft very unathletic lineman. So, I don't know.
