That's up there with "Tom Brady was a 6th round pick" in just because it happened once doesn't mean we should ignore that the other hundreds of times it didn't happen as being the more likely outcome.
The chances a Day 3 pick evolves into a quality starter are slim. Hell, less than 50% of 4th round picks last through their rookie deals without being cut. I mean, seriously, think about that. But folks will still bank on 6th/7th round picks being starters in Year 2. You're lucky if you can get a few years of cheap depth out of them. Yeah, occasionally you'll hit on a TJ or Geno, but you can't EXPECT much.
