You can get out from Hubbard, Stone, and Rankins' contracts. That'll save you around 30 million. Take the 30 million and go get a good vet corner and a good vet safety. Pay up for them. I'm talking tier 1 fringe tier 2 guys, not Geno Stone type players. 

Go draft an interior DL guy in round one. Get one that can start and be effective day 1. Trade up if you need to. 

You do that and I think you can turn this defense around. Dax, Turner, Jenkins all flashed enough for me this year to believe. 

Of course it's fixable IF you start signing and drafting good players. The problem is this team has failed recently at signing and drafting good players.

2 of the 3 guys you want to cut are players from this past years free agency class. Who did Stone replace? Nick Scott from the previous free agent class. See a trend?
