Saw an interesting QB stat line that kind of shows the importance of having an offensive line built for the running game. It also shows two different eras.
61.7% completion percentage - 7 TDs 12 INTs - 7.9 yards per attempt - 10.9% sack percentage - 78.7 rating
61.5% completion percentage - 7 TDs - 4 INTs - 6.1 yards per attempt - 6.3% sack percentage - 82.5 rating
Line one is Turk Schonert - 5-2 starting record
Line two is Brandon Allen - 1-5 starting record
Here's another one . . .
Boomer Esiason has played for three winning teams 1986, 1988 and 1990. Those teams were #1, #2 or #3 in total rushing yards. When Boomer didn't have a dominant running game, he was a losing QB outside of a 4-1 stretch at the end of his 14th and final season. 80-93 as a starter for his career.
