I do have a belief that at some point these coaches decided to ride or die with particular players that didn't work out. Coaching is not just X's and O's, but also making choices about which players should play. It's not a question of loyalty, but the ability to recognize and develop talent.
Even play-callers should adjust their play-calling to the strength of the players, but if they can't recognize talent they've got no chance at making adjustments.
