The defense needs an overhaul.

They probably keep Tre and keep Battle and some of the recent draft picks.

I don’t think any other defensive players should be safe.

So yes they could switch scheme. If Hendrickson doesn’t fit the scheme he could be traded for a ransom too.

With where the defense is at I would be okay with a complete overhaul.
They could let half the defense go.

Of course the argument is they need to win now.

When it comes down to it I just want them to hire whoever is most capable of developing a dominant defense. Therefore the best coach should get the job.

We need someone who can evaluate talent well and let the dead weight go and develop a winning defense.
