Hiring Parker checks multiple boxes, but the fact remains that he will bring a style of defense which can mirror the style of our offense. But we will need to spend on our D-line to make it work. 

I've always been of the mindset that in order to have a strong defense, you must control the middle of the field. That begins with IDL, ILB and Safety. Sure, having great edge rushers helps, but it you've got boss DTs they'll flush the QB to average DEs. Same with secondary, if you've got great Safety play, then you can get by with average CBs. It's also more cost efficient to go the fundamentals route.
