That's fine, I will fight as well lol: the numbers (both pass blocking and YPC) were always in Zeitler's favour, year in, year out, when they were both playing at the same time and had we had Zeitler all this time, playing at the level he has been playing at all these years, I think beyond the shadow of a doubt, he would've been the better long-term pick.
DeCastro was the absolutely top-touted G in the draft, getting top 10 buzz and being on Luck's team gave him a ton of exposure and he was boosted unnecessarily as a result.
Stooler OL have been super overrated for the past 25 years, I mean Pouncey is going to make the HoF and he wasn't even the best C in the division every year, yet he got 9 PBs and 2 APs.
The numbers never lied and we (and the Browns, at least at a couple of positions) were a better OL than the Stoolers from 2010-2015 and they had in that time:
5 PBs, 3 APs
For comparison's sake, we had:
2 PBs, 1 AP (just Whitworth).
Browns had:
9 PBs, 3 AP
Ravens had:
6 PBs, 2 AP
We had THE BEST OL in the division, from left to right (typically, it was with exception to C), in those 6 seasons, yet we got the least representation for awards. Whitworth had lower pressures AND a higher YPC behind him ***AND*** a higher grade than Thomas, in 4 of those 6 years (with 2010 and 2014 being the best LT years IN THE LEAGUE) and he only had the 2 PBs and the one AP.
Again, Whitworth's 2014 was:
0 sacks, 1 QB hit, 7 hurries, in 1031 snaps and the team ran something like 4.5-4.7 YPC behind LT. LEGENDARY year.
Not a single award. He got AP2, but that's an irrelevant honour as nobody acknowledges it.
Let's continue to die on these hills
