The Bengals will have to worry about Chase's contract extension this/next year.
The most the Bengals have been willing to pay a non-WR1 in the offense has been Boyd's $10.75 mill APY.
I expect the Bengals only were ok paying Boyd that much as the 3rd option in the offense was because at the time, he was 2nd option and they had two studs on rookie contracts (Chase and Higgins).

I am personally ok paying for Pitts $10 mill for 2025 to be the 2nd-ish option and even extending him potentially for another few years because Egbuka wouldn't come off his rookie contract until Spring 2030.
Or drafting Loveland/Warren and paying for a few years of a WR2/3 caliber guy at around the same $10-12-ish mill APY price.

With that said, I can see some not liking the idea of paying $10+ mill for a guy who may only get 600-800 yards.

I get what you're saying and mostly agree.

Here's the way I look at it and I'm in no way saying I'm an NFL contract expert, insider, have any special info, or whatever. Jamarr Chase isn't going to take the field next season for 9 million. They're going to have to rework his contract. He's going to demand to be up near the top and rightfully so. 

With that happening I just can't wrap my head around MB & Co. paying Tee very high end money as well. I'd say they'll make him an offer and some other team will double it and he'll be gone.

Gesicki is 29 years old and is just an ok option. And I'm not trying to slam him. And again I'd say the Bengals aren't going to bring him back for what he's going to want and may well get elsewhere.

If both of these things happen we're going to be hurting for options at receiver. Egbuka and Pitts would mend that issue well. IMHO
