At a certain point it's best for everyone to just cut bait on a player. We waited at least a year too long on Carman, and keeping Volson for 2025 would be at least two years too long too. It's not like he was a super high draft pick and we've just failed to unlock his potential. He was 4th round pick after spending 6 years at North Dakota State.
Clean start for us and a fresh start for him elsewhere. I don't know if he can play elsewhere in the NFL, but we know Cody Ford can backup at least 4 spots, so I don't see a need for him as a backup either. Letting him get back anywhere near Joe Burrow would be malpractice at this point.
